I start whiny threads in the official forum.

That causes people to think better of me, and I recover my feelings of self-worth accordingly.

I do not play a healer myself, but I do respect the people who play as one.
However, I do "underappreciate" healers who stand on the sideline doing nothing dps wise and just cast a random heal every two seconds.

I never thought anyone would need appreciation for their role, as each role is needed for its use.
As a healer u would appreciate tank and dps.
    Vice versa.

If you do your job well, no one praises you, cause that's expected. If people keep dying, even if it's to stupid, then you're the scum of the Earth and you need to git gud or uninstall the game.

Having incredibly fast Queue times makes up for that fact.

I heal in PVP and love watching my groups heal bars bounce up and down in an intense fight. Sometimes they stay up and sometimes they stay down, at which point I'm not very well appreciated.
I don't normally use daggers, but when I do, I choose dos Lekis.

I've had two very bad DD in different groups this week catch agro one way or another- or just plain standing in stupid and the first thing out of their mouths was "healer heaaaal" sorry but, depending on how much dmg you're taking, nothing i do can save you.

One had the nerve to cop an attitude and he ended up being kicked.

I don't appreciate the average healer but if I make a mistake and a healer stops me from going down? I'm eternally grateful.

No. I know what I'm adding to the group and don't need someone giving me an 'ata-boy' for confirmation. :)

Sometimes I feel bad when people die but I know is 100% down to stupid teammates who think I should be using my entire magics pool to keep them alive, this happens often in normal dungeons when I do vet with premade group and competent players who know I don't have infinite magic things are a lot better.

Yes, but not all the time. Some groups are awesome and have people who will try and make my job easier.

Om the other hand I will also get groups are just a mess with people running around for no reason (I sometimes even get people whonare activley runing out of my heals), tanks who can't even hold aggro on a single mob and people who are completley ignoring the strategies.

But I've only ever run into one person blaming me (as the healer) for his own mistskes(in ESO that is), and usally groups don't complain too much even when I do mess up.

Honestly sometimes I don't even know how it's possible to die in normal dungeon with rapid regen and a healing ritual always down but sometimes you have to spam that that one guy with healing prayer or whatever it's called and it just messes everything up.

It isn't all that surprising though. If you are an average healer no one dies. And if you do well buffing and adding dps, it just looks like the dps is really good.

That is why you have to let people die. So they know you hold their life in you hands.

I think this works both ways, as a healer I don't appreciate the DPS a lot, sometimes they are beyond bad, like I'm getting out of here at the 1st boss bad.

Tanks I never really have a problem with dudes don't die, if they do it would be 100% on me.

I love it when the teams coasting through everything then as the healer I die then they all quickly follow, that's when they know what you've been contributing.

This. I run with guildies and they know I appreciate what they do. Not just the healers, but all the people in the group. As for PUG healers, I don't trust them, so I make sure I can keep myself alive regardless if I am tanking or DD.

I've played all roles in this game and healing is not hard. Most dungeons you can get away with just some hots and not worry about heals and just debuff, buff and dps. Healers have some idea that they are super special and deserve special recognition.

Hitting good dps numbers is harder than healing and tanking for most of this games content.

But anyway, do you need recognition and appreciation for fulfilling your role?

I just keep on keepin' on. It's not really a big deal with randies, truth be told half my dungeon runs don't involve any communication at all.

When I was running with a guild though? You can bet I wouldn't run with a dps anymore if they started getting hotheaded with me. Spite's more satisfying when you know you'll see the same person over and over. :p

Normal mode random dungeons I just go in with 3 heals in my bar rapid regen cleansing ritual and healing prayer rest DPS skills, that's enough to keep anyone alive.

Vet mode though I go full heal bar and not let any teams down yet, tears through my resources a bit more to DPS as well considering I'm only 190cp but maybe one day I will get away with what I do atm in normal mode in vet.

Edit/ The bit about healers thinking they are special and needing recognition that is a people problem not a class, had all sorts thinking they are it, personally I just go in and do my bit then get out, that's why I answered no to the poll.

Not really, I mean I don't expect special praise and I don't gear for meta so I know I'm not the best. When healing I just focus on heals and buffs most of the time but I get the job done though in most cases so that's all that matters IMO.

Sure I run across the occasional jerk, but it's really occasional and I do randoms with randoms all the time. And that's just the fact some peeps are turds.
    Hoping for more playable races.

I was healing last night, and felt I was doing well. I felt like I was making an impact. It wasn't until this guy PM'd me to compliment my healing. Also, I received another compiment/thank you in the next run with a different group.

I was doing standard healing things like keeping the party up, damage mitigation, handling adds and dps during healing any downtime, and being fairly vocal about fight mechanics and general comms.

I've always played a healer in other games, and have excelled. This is the first game that I actually received direct compliments in dungeon-level healing.

I don't remember ever feeling underappreciated, and have never been accused of not pulling my weight. I know friends and guildmates know they can rely on me to play my role adequately when I'm on my healer or tank, and several times I've gotten a round of "nice heals" from pugs.

I don't put much stock in those complements though, because most of the time that healing is noticeably "good" its because something else has gone wrong. Either I fell down on the buffs and HoTs, and had to come through with a big recovery heal to keep the group from wiping, or the group fell down on dps or mechanics and I had to stretch to keep them up, or tank dropped aggro or missed a block and died and I had to keep a dps up while he had boss aggro. When everything goes well, the heals aren't something to remark on.

I'm the messiah of healing I don't understand the question.

But do understand, that there is Mundus stone located somewhere in Tamriel, that enables a player to stand in the red, not learn dungeon mechanics, and run into the hard hitting mobs...with 11k health....

I believe that particular Mundus stone is called Carried Skyreach Baby
