Active ESO players, what is the MAIN reason that makes you play this game?

There's no "main" reason. I simply like it. I like the general gameplay, like it's huge and beautiful territories with a lot of quests, dungeons, chests, fishing, farming, housing, etc. ESO is one if the best and biggest MMORPGs ever. A world where one can live.
I don't really much care about PvP balance, bugs, some lags and other issues, because I've played all modern MMORPGs and they all had the same problems and all of them are quite bad in some aspects. But ESO is different. I didn't see a really bad things here, all I've seen was cool, good and average but never bad.

I never was an ES fan, but here I really do enjoy the exploration of Tamriel. Maybe it's because of pretty graphics, interesting and original skills system, well designed fighting system, music, voiceovers, interesting crafting... All of this.
It's not a perfect game, but it's still one of the best for sure.

I like it for the large variety of all the different things to do, and ways you can play. If you get bored with something, there are so many other things you can do.

Also, I am an achievement junky, and ESO has a lot of cool one's to get.

I only do trading. Buy/sell, crafting pots etc... and PvP once or twice a week.
Other than these, I have no interest in the game right now.
I used to love this game and created chars for each class + levelled them all. Now I'm getting bored while playing the game.

I picked Other because none of them fit my reason.

I play ESO because I like how group content is not forced, but it's there. There's a lot of freedom in the game where you can either do a hard dungeon, just wander around and help NPCs or what have you and I love that freedom. PVP is probably my least liked feature, followed by endgame content like trials, but it's not forced or required so I can very easily ignore it or only go to Cyro when I wanna laugh at myself lol.

Plus I love playing Khajiit and there hardly isn't any games around where you can play something like a khajiit or a argonian. That and werewolves. And once you buy the game it's yours and they don't really force you to pay anymore money beyond that if you don't want to or can't afford it.

Sure there are some things the devs could fix or improve, but overall the game is relaxing when I want a relaxing time and exciting when I want it to be exciting. It's a good balance of letting me choose depending on my mood.

Simply there's no other better game (that I like) that I can play on my crappy, laggy Satellite Internet connection. ESO has the best tolerance for lag, AFAICT.

I'll go with lore, even though I also like the graphics, crafting, housing and gameplay. The gameplay is a big part of it for me, I enjoy that aspect from a single player POV... i.e. questing, open world content. Can't comment on PvP, end game or grouping stuff since I haven't gotten into much of that yet. Based on forum complaints, I presume that PvP is laggy and unbalanced and the grouping tool for PvE is hopelessly broken. But the game works nicely as a single player RPG.

2 reasons I still play ESO:

1. It's one of the few titles where my husband and I can play cooperatively. I hate horror, zombies, and survival games, and Divinity:Original Sin II isn't out yet.

2. It's a beautiful game.

I am an ES nerd, but I'd rather play another solo title, where I can turn on god mode to get around annoying bugs.
