What does "Increases this item's Armor value" means?

I am not sure this means, can someone please explain it to me. Does this mean it increase the price when you sell it or something else?

✭✭✭"Armor" is a stat on armor pieces that increases BOTH spell and physical resistance. So increasing the armor value, which is what reinforced armor traits does, increases your spell and Physical resistance. Which of course lowers damage taken from a lot of attacks.0
