ERROR 318?

Now I know what this error is and I wouldn't be mad if it was justified but I just got dropped from the server for excessive messaging with the request to stop spamming.
I was running solo content. Not using text or voice chat. I starting lagging and rubber banding. And then I was disconnected and given the error 318 message?
Whilst I've been having minor issues with lag this is the first time it's been this horrifically awful and that I've received a false error message.

It's a very confusing error and they need to change it, but what most likely happened is you lagged, queued up a bunch of commands then they all hit the server at once and it assumed you were spamming requests and kicked you.
Hmm, well all I did was removed 5 soul gems from my bank along with 1k gold and mounted a horse to ride into town then boom, "booted for spamming" lol that isn't a whole lot.
It doesn't matter what you did, it's the server/connection lagging behind and catching up. If there are commands waiting when it catches up and they all hit at once it'll erroneously think you're spamming.
Basically, all the money they made off crown crates has not been reinvested into the game's infrastructure.

This has been a problem for years apparently, I've seen posts about this going back to 2014. I've seen this issue and so has my wife. There was a dev post that explained that the text of the error is incorrect, the "messages" are not chat or mail related, they are related to data from your client (ESO app) coming in too fast. Seems to be a networking issue. I have 2 different network providers, I only see this issue on the one that is a bit unstable. This is also the network my wife's Xbox is on.1 -
