Too many new variables on the table, from new mundus stone buffs to new gear traits. It is not wise to rush and say X trait is BiS without extensive research and test.

It seems to me the question is, you want more crit or more pen? Whichever you want, take the other trait and let your divines pieces buff the crap out of your stone.

Precise is about 10% higher dps, same duration.
I tested it several times on PTS.
But if you want to use an inferior weapon, go ahead ;)

your testing is flawed and you need to stop spreading this until you do longer then 500k health and 20 attacks.

https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/4318191#Comment_4318191 all the traits are withoin 2% of each other. except for nirn and sharp, which is 2.6% between those two, instead of 7%+ it used to be.

Everything has always bern viable unless you are doing a veteran trial boss fight. Which is probably the most boring thing in game to do.

Was this for general weapons though, because I don't think infused buff would be quite as good on VMA weapons as they already have a 100% enchant 'proc'

600+ runs and the only inferno staves I've ever seen have been defending so I'm still screwed, but hey at least there's possibly more options now! And I do have Nirn/Infused/Precise bows for my stam, luckily that seems to be what I'm maining this patch.

Damn bruh. The only staves I've gotten so far that were inferno were: Defending, decisive, infused, nirnhoned, and charged. Not a single precise or sharpened. Not from final chest or weekly reward. Meanwhile... Multiple sharpened ice staves. =_=

Having checked where Asayre gets his numbers from his damage calculations for infused are based on weapons using a Glyph of Weapon Damage, therefore they are not relevant to a discussion of vMA weapons with their unique enchant

The Maelstrom weapon grind is considered the most infuriating and difficult grind there is in ESO. There are people with 200+ clears that haven't even seen an inferno staff in the final chest, or weekly reward. Just browse through the VMA RNG threads. There are plenty of horror stories. It even made me quit at 1 point, as receiving a charged inferno after doing so many runs was the straw that broke the camel's back.

@Mashille Because I like it, and I wanted to switch-up my outfits for a bit. I also got tired of wearing my VMoL skin, and wanted to wear my CoS skin. :p

Good thing I have all those, but sharpened and precise for my inferno staves. And only sharpened and infused for my lightning staves. Everything else I have tons of, (except my precise lightning staff — I only have 1 of those).

Hate to break it to you... But Nirn isn't going to BiS (not a chance). Precise is looking the most fit for that role at the moment.

sharpen will still be BiS in most situations but the gap between it and precise/infused is really small or even none depending on setups...so if u have precise/infused weapon than congrats

Dont know what the new meta is like but I will stick to thief stone still i guess since it can be buffed by armor and u cannot get crit bonus from CP so crit is harder to stack up. Lover might be good but we will be getting 30 more CP points as well hence can invest some into spell erosion, combined with sharpen that should put u back to the old pen value

vMA staffs also give 189 spell damage, which does go up with infused, to 248, which does get amped by the sorcerys too. So it is relevant. Not to mention the stright buff to the light attacks you get.

To all those like me who never could get their hands on a sharpened inferno or lightning staff, next patch is when we get the last laugh (if you got anything Nirnhoned >_>). I sure hope none of you were foolish enough to deconstruct any nirnhoned weapons you got. Me? I'm just waiting on the next update to go live, so I can lol so hard at all of the meta slaves who deconstructed any and all nirnhoned weapons that dropped for them.

    VrBWmUp.jpg

I have tons of stamina weapons in nirnhoned too (though I also had all stamina weapons in precise and sharpened as well), so my stamina toons shouldn't be caught lacking either. Thanks for this, ZOS. Oh how I shall have a hardy laugh upon the launch of the next update. :D

as far as I can see,the only diff between you and a 'meta slave' is you don't have a sharpened weapon of choice,i don't quite see where you will find the lol's in that tbh but each to their own I guess :)

That doesn't prove what he said wrong Precise is still better than Nirn.
