Maintenance for the week of April 13:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 13

Not counting today, how often have you been crashing per 8 hours of gameplay?

PC here, thanks to memory leaks I'll crash quite reliably whenever I PvP with large groups or run a dungeon with lots of AoE casters. Crashes my entire system pretty fast.

Is that because you are short of memory, or because you leave the launcher open while you are playing? Because I am on PC (and launch the game direct from the 64 bit exe) and don't have that experience, so it is by no means universal

I crash on PS4 quite easily, I get the blue screen where it comes up with "there has been a problem and we need to close the game please report it" blah blah so I always report it when I get it, When I do crash though Its normally because im in an area that is way overcrowded like Cyrodiil.

"I appear at my lord's behest, or perhaps I was always here, and you merely lacked the ability to see me."

My XBox only crashes and freezes occasionally. It actually did it for the first time in a week or so yesterday in Vivec City.

It was having real problems loading textures though. Plus, lots of players around, I suspect it significantly slowed things down.

Personally, I think @Enodoc may have been right when he said about the Vvardenfell quest line being at the end of the main quest lines, instead of being available at the beginning. They should do the tutorial, wailing prison, main quest line (including alliance story) then Vvardenfell starting in Seyda Neen. Personally, I would recommend doing both TG and DB (and maxing out their skill lines)before Vvardenfell as well, as you will have the chance to raise your thieving and murdering skills up, which it seems are sorely needed in Vvardenfell.

Since I started playing back in Beta (granted, I took a long break after ZOS went brain-dead and decided to go F2P) I have only ever had one crash per se.
Now, total lock-ups are a different issue... that's at least once per day. Infinite duration loading screens are far too common; given the graphics card I'm using (it's a beast!) there's no excuse for that.

It's not a memory hardware issue. 4GB VRAM and 16GB RAM. In fact, my setup is superior in every way to what my girlfriend is running, who also plays ESO. She never crashes. I constantly do. Actually has left me stumped as to why this is. If I open my memory monitor though I can see ESO eating up all available memory little by little and not releasing it back into free memory until it is all gone and the computer crashes. It happens VERY fast when a lot of particle effects are on screen.

If I happen to be fighting Lord Warden Dusk or Molag Kena I have to restart the game before trying or it would crash. Also brings my FPS back from <15 back to 100. Makes 0 sense.

PC/NA & don't go to Cyrodil - Don't get many crash's. Maybe one a day if I'm extremely unlucky, but can go days between crash's.

Crash's do happen, but seems infrequently, and there's nothing specific to pinpoint about it - ie they don't happen at same time, day, map, activity, etc.

    PC specs: AMD R9 270x 4GB Vram, 16 GB ram, Win10 64-bit OS, Intel i6600K @ 4.5.

I launch the game via eso64.exe and not the launcher - launcher only ever gets used to update the game when patch's get released, otherwise it's never open.

@redshirt_49 Question, do you have addons installed? If so, have you tried disabling all of them and keeping an eye on the memory? It could be possible that for whatever reason an addon could be causing the memory to be gobbled up. (I admit I don't know, just trying to suggest something to look at if you haven't tried this already).

I find that crashes are very, very rare for me (once a month, tops), and usually only happen because of server issues. Last one before last night was with the release of Morrowind, when the servers were overloaded.
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

Never had any issues with crashes and CTDs (and I run around 30+ addons, MM and Harvest Map included while doing PvE) but in the last time and especially when I level my Warden I got some while entering a quest instance while doing the main quest line.

I think my game crashes maybe once a month, if that. I can't actually remember the last time but I have a feeling it was just after the Morrowind update.

But the crashes/freeze to crash are not as irritating as the lag. If it's really bad I just quit but the lesser lag just makes playing a real hassle. I try to know what I'm getting into before I go chasing after something but the lag makes even lesser critters a challenge sometimes. Who wants to admit a Nix Hound sucked all their blood out? It's embarrassing. Yesterday I built settlements in Fallout 4 and today I am going to dive back into FF XII which I loved long ago and look forward to playing again. I'll come back to ESO later, when the lag is fixed.

Do loading screens that force you to kill the program count?

They could at least not boot you from Cyrodiil if it's pop locked. But my guess is that someone high up mentioned to someone lower on the totem pole that they needed to figure out a way to speed up the pop lock queues and this was their solution.

I think they also force LDs to lower latency. They drop 2-3 players at the same time in the same area every so often but not every player in that area.
