However, since sellers from all guilds use it for pricing, it homogenizes the prices up to the point that shopping for deals becomes less and less possible. Furthermore, the people spamming the MM and TTC prices in zone chat each time somebody want to sell something are truly annoying. As long as these people don't realize that MM prices are guild dependant, and TTC prices are the price of items that might not sell, providing this info is just a plain annoyance.2

TheStealthDude✭✭✭✭Meh...I dont careI like the convenience of TTC and like that TTC can help guilds with non-prime spot vendors make sales faster, but at the same time, I also miss being rewarded with better deals for going out to those less-traveled locations, as a buyer. Any good deal posted is almost immediately picked up now because of TTC. There is essentially no reason for me to leave the main trading areas unless I want to spend time for a <5% discount (which I usually dont).1

✭✭✭✭It has much potential, but could use some improvements:- It only shows what clients have seen. Some of this should almost be built in to the game, at least to locate an item, even if it did not show price.
- It can't distinguish between duplicate entries. Are there really 5 of these that were seen at the same vendor 20 minutes ago, or did the same entry get seen by 5 different people?
- Pretty sure it has its own effect on pricing, sometimes positive, sometimes not.
- Should have a separate listing for historical items - once the item's been sold and updated, the listing should go away.
- Some sort of notification feature would be awesome, allowing you to see when an item might be available, giving you better chances of making it in time to obtain it. Again, some of this should almost be built into the game.
A WTB request, of sorts, would be nice. Not quite global AH, but a posting board built into game for items requested to be crafted and/or purchased.
Could be a player created writ for farming gear.
TL;DR: It fills another part of the void the game currently has regarding sales, inventory, and itemization, but only part of it.Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

It doesn't work for consoles, since you have to have a related program (and mod) running in order to scan Guild Stores you interact with, which then automatically upload the information to the TTC website. Finding great deals and reselling them is one of the best ways to make great profit in this game. All in all IMO a AH is a very streamlined but far less rewarding system. Players who do not want to be bothered with the effort of looking will always want the convenience of a AH.

And also 10x more time consuming. I'll admit, now that I've found my way into a few large trading guilds and gotten MM up and running, the guild trader system isn't all bad. Sure. But the fact remains that you still need to take all these extra steps just to participate in the economy, unlike any other game with a unified auction house. It's a very unfriendly system to new and casual players, and as a result the wealth in the game is abnormally skewed towards those who specialize in playing the market.
The buying side is where the tedium really comes into play. As much as I love to use TTC as a resource to find gear that I need, I often find myself going to the 5th or 6th place the item is available because the first 4 or 5 have already been taken in the <1hr the item has been listed. TTC doesn't update their data every hour, let alone every minute. An in-game global search feature would mitigate this and prevent players from traveling all across the globe before finally finding their item(s).Edited by Crafts_Many_Boxes on July 7, 2017 1:29PM2
