Sunderflame set good or na?

(2 items) Adds 967 Max Stamina

(3 items) Adds 129 Weapon Damage

(4 items) Adds 688 Weapon Critical

(5 items) When you hit an enemy with a fully charged Heavy Attack, deal 774 Flame Damage and reduce target’s Physical Resistance by 3440 for 8 seconds.

Since it does a straight debuff it stacks with pierce armor and other debuffs etc.

My main question is can this set be used in end game content ? ( Vet dungeons - vet trials
)

I would say 5 spriggan ( DW dagger/Axe 3 jewelry ) and 5 sunderflame on body. And any monster set krags velidreth or stormfist are all good. Krags may be overkill though on the penetration.

Does anybody know if this set is reall good really bad or just decent ?

Just really curious because i have a full divines set on body and would be nice to hear its good set. Maybe a heavy attack build on stamsorc?
Also since physical penetration would be so high you can run nirn weapons for more damage on heavys

EDIT - strictly for pve i know this set wouldnt be too good in pvp. Just pve im saying :)

I don't think it's great as heavies are easy to dodge in PvP and the payoff isn't fantastic anyway.

I tried it as a tank. It's neat if you want to build a tank that can contribute to DPS.

Its not needed, everyone that is stamina is running Twice Fanged, Spriggan or Night Mothers Gaze. And more people are Magicka than stamina. You would be over penetrating with that set in the group with current Meta. And nobody is gonna build their setup relying on someone else to run that set, there for its barely ever used. So I would say don't bother with it. But yes it does stack with other debuffs.

Alkosh or Torugs would be better for that, and both would help Magicka too, but neither are all that effective. I did both and I went away for them since I can contribute to the groups DPS better in other ways as Tank.

I see so its def not bis. Didnt think it would be was just curious. I still think you can top 30k dps with it which is good enough for end game content but ya def not bis

I paired this up with Torug on my tank and it was promising to provide around 12k physical penetration, we got good increase to DPS on two non-optimized stam characters. We hoped to build them to be high damage builds with little to no penetration built in. But it's a waste for every reason that Paulsimonps points out. Plus it's single target, so on a boss it would be fantastic, but the rest of the dungeon the stam characters are going to be hurting or need to have different kits to equip between boss fights. Plus stam needs help with survivability.

I want it to work, maybe too much, I'm still farming for the shield and an infused 1 hander.

It's interesting from a group stand point in Trials since by wearing this and having someone wear night mother's gaze it opens other stam group members to equip something in place of twice-fang serpent that will contribute to over all damage. The meta that another pointed out exists that involves twice-fang serpent evolved as fewer groups were running multiple stamina toons necessitating stamina users run their own armor pen sets.

I'd say consult with your team mates to see what they're wearing and plan accordingly. Now that stamina toons are being welcomed more back in trials it can help out the group comp to vary the setup from the twice fang + vicious / twice fang + war machine setups.

I've recently been asking about this in-game. I'm running it on my stam healer currently. It used to be recommended that a dps wear SF for trials, but from what I hear it really isn't needed anymore. I don't have any verification though, just what I've heard.

A stamDK heavy attack build running this set would be great with the right group composition.

I'm thinking of a group like:

    StamDK: 5 x Sunderflame, 5 x VO, 2 x Velidreth
    Stamsorc: 5 x NMG, 3 x VO, 2 x Velidreth, 2 x Maelstrom daggers (or 5 x VO)
    Stamblade: 5 x TBS (or Hunding's?), 5 x War Machine, 2 x Velidreth
    Stamplar: 5 x TBS (or Hunding's?), 5 x War Machine, 2 x Velidreth

Now, most groups don't want 4 stam toons in a raid, but you could even do a stamDK with 5 x Sunderflame + 5 x NMG, and then all of your other stam toons would be free to run non-pen sets.

Or something along those lines. Getting the ~5k pen from other sources would allow a few DPS to run sets other than TFS, which would be a substantial DPS increase.

    Magicka DPS don't really need Alkosh (4884 + 5160 + 5280 + 1920 = 17.2k), just throw 8-10 points in Spell Erosion.

This was part of a Meta trial groups debuff sets, but that was years ago. You used to stick it on a stamina DPS, it was really not hard to keep it up 100% of the time. I used to run it on my stam sorc back in the day. There are just better ways to get to the pen cap at this point, and pretty sure this set is only minor breach these days, so you dont really see it anymore.

    (cant edit for some reason)

the numbers on both sunder and ember are minimum 1.3-1.5k per sec, with 2~ sec full heavy, should be doing good amount of damage, im guessing the listed stats are somehow datamined white info, and/or prebuff, as most sets' damage 1-2k(1 if aoe or also healing, even though my little test with ice furnace hit for 1900 off unnerving tomb in OL)
