You absolutely shouldn't grind CP. You'll end up like one of those guys in PUG stories on forums. Play the game and learn your class and role, CP just comes as you do dungeons or PvP.

I only power leveled CP for a little bit. But when I did, I did it in Old Orsinium.

As for leveling 1-50, I don't have a set way to do it. Some characters have been grinded out and others were done via questing and such. I power leveled my mag sorc with dolmens. My mag Warden is being leveled via questing unless I change my mind and delete her. A couple others were done during different double xp events. My main two were done completely without grinding, I did every bloody quest on them. That is something I cannot do again, main/important quests only for everyone else.

Why would you grind CP anyway? If you are below cap, you hit cap all too soon anyway, and if above the cap, its painfully slow and does no good. CP happens as you play....no reason to grind for it at all. I never have and never will...currently sitting at 773CP and in no particular hurry to get anymore. I figure as long as I stay 100CP above cap its good enough.

This is what I'm doing right now with an alt.

    1. do both tutorials
    2. immediately go to the harborage and rampage all the way through the mainline quests.
    3. Hit up Coldharbor when the main questline calls for you to. Proceed to faceroll Coldharbor.

I have completed 90% of Coldharbor (no WB yet) and I'm almost to Molag Bal:

    I'm LVL 35

    LVL 5 Fighter's Guild Already

LVL 30ish on my class skill lines as well as DW and 27 ish Destro Staff

ALL from doing just the main quest and Coldharbor. No need to grind at all - It's almost coming TOO fast. I'm already maxed on CP, but anything over 160 is fluff anyway.

Thanks to crowded Morrowind I have been able to farm up sets I needed with relative ease :D It took a while but I didn't see a lot of competition.

The Dwemer ruins public dungeon in Vvardenfell. I can't remember what its name is because it looks like someone just let their cat walk across their keyboard when they named it.

But there is a spot within where there are several different groups of enemies within close proximity of each other and they respawn very quickly. If you have a maxed out werewolf you can pretty much stay in werewolf form indefinitely as well.

Along this path there is also a Wood, Alchemy, and Glyph resource nodes and a heavy sack that you can hit too. Each of these seem to have an incredible respawn time too.

I do not know if this is the most effective, but I like it.

I have 985 as of today and only grinded on my vet chars for a few hours to retrain some morphs after patches that brought significant changes to how skill works, like Morrowind, and when I gained new skill lines, like the ones in PvP. Probably added 10-20 CP overall to my count. The rest I gained simply playing normally. That's why I say it's pretty pointless to grind them specifically as they will accumulate without doing anything special. Back in the day it took me exactly 6 months of playing between hitting 50/VR1 on my first char and reaching the cap, which at that time was set to 501. That was little more than a year ago, when there weren't any experience bonus events, only a few repeatable quests and most of the content wasn't scaled to VR16/CP160. Today it would have been much faster. And besides, with the CP changes it's not as critical to get to the cap. If you are at 300 or so you would have gained all the stats and 90% of the bonuses a CP630 has. That would take six weeks tops.

My best recommendation for new players is to simply keep playing until CP160, then start farming gear by doing overland content and dungeons for the sets. CP gain should very fast, and they will save time by getting the gear at the same time, scaled to max.

When leveling CP for first toon back in the day the spiders in Bangkorai was really good at grinding CP.

Then in the days where you still had to level you alts to veteran ranks the best for me was to level to 50 via questing and baby pvp and then at 50 go to sewers and do the zombie loop in AD area which gave a ton of CP to get you to vet 14 or 16 or whatever it was. In those days it was far more tedious to get to level cap and thankfully we don't need to do the vet rank grind for alts anymore.

Nowadays to level to 50 I quest to about 10 then go to normal Maelstrom Arena till about 30 (about 3 or 4 runs) and then I start doing random normal dungeons to 50. This may not be the outright fastest way to level but it has added advantages. Firstly you start your undaunted grind early because you get undaunted experience from dungeon content so by the time you are 50 you have some of your undaunted levels behind you and to me this is the most frustrating grind in ESO (mages guild yes that too but you can do all of that in one sitting if you want to. Undaunted takes many days of pledges).

Getting started early on undaunted will get your toons to max capability faster so I thinknow that all in this might be the faster way.

If I were a person who is leveling their first toon and needs to get all my CP I would probably quest to 50 just to experience the story of the game plus random dailies for xp boost and then I would probably go to the sewers and do pledge dailies from cp 1 to CP 630 with xp pots.
