Does enchant quality also go up with gear improvement?

I tested it and my glyph stats did go up. Now, I wanted confirmation from the community in case I'm crazy. Does enchant quality align with your gear quality upon improvement? For example if I improve my purple gear, will both gear and enchant quality turn gold upon its upgrade? If true I can save my gold enchant mats for gold gears only..

No. Enchantment quality is separate from gear improvement.

But how come my enchant stats went up? I compared it to non-upgraded purple gear and they had same amount of health.

    Here is how it works:

    1. Dropped Set Items will improve the existing enchantment it came with if you improve the piece.
    2. Enchants you make, even if you apply them to a set item and improve it, stay the same as you initially made them.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Thanks for the clarification, I wasn't sure about number 1.

I've noticed this as well. I'll buy a purple chest that has a +805ish or so enchant on it. Then when I upgrade the chest to gold it goes up to like +868 - the same as a gold enchant. So it does seem like upgrading the item upgrades the enchant. I'm not sure if this is a bug or what.

    Edit:

Ahhhhh. This makes sense. Thank you for this bit of information. As I said in my example above, it always seems to upgrade when it came with an existing enchant. So that is why then. Sort of seems like it should not be like this but I'm ok with it as it saves me gold on Kutas.

As stated above in the thread, was this a dropped piece of gear you improved with the enchant that came on it? If so, then it's working as expected. If you improve a crafted piece that you put an enchant on, the enchant will stay the same.

conversely, if you re-enchant a set piece with a new enchant, then improve it, does the enchant improve?

It does not improve in that case. The enchantment must not be crafted in order to auto-improve.

    Other things to consider:
    1. If your item is "Infused" then upgrading increases the infused bonus and therefore the stat amount.
    2. If it's a set item, upgrading will increase the set bonuses, potentially leading to higher stats
