No one tried light armor tanking?

In order to tank in LA you need to stack shields as you health will be very low. Any set that gives you magicka sustain bonuses is good. It's for sure not viable for SotH dungeons on veteran, and only marginal for IC ones but should work for the base game vet ones. One combo I would suggest is. 5 Armor of the Seducer (1 light 1 medium 1 heavy weapon & shield) 5 Sanctuary (jewelry and 2 light body pieces) and Engine Guardian or Sentinel of Rakugamz 2 light or 1 light 1 medium if you use a light piece instead of medium on Seducers. With this setting you can also heal and support at the same time. But as I said it's not effective for any content.

A very nice combo is:
5 Armor Master, /w Harness Magicka + 2 infernal Guardian.
Base Armorrating + Armor Master + Major & Minor Resolve/Ward + defending weapon/reinforced shield bring u to ~28k armorrating, if u put bloodspawn on top of it u will be (far) above armorcap.

For weapons i used s&b and lightningstaff.
Trifood, all attributes in Max Magicka.
For me blocking from magicka pool and stopping magicka regen seems as to much of a disadvantage to make a frosty worth it. (Additional: Taunting on a 2 sec channel vs inner rage, aoedmg vs single target dmg + a shield that most likely will get u killed for clipdmg from heavy attacks, and slow vs concussion on wall of elements.)

If u have trouble sustaining stamina, go for sentinel of rakakumablabla instead of infernal guardian.
For a secondary set, pick 3/4 Seducer and 3 Willpower (s&b + 3 armors armormaster, u only need it on one bar), optionally u can go with 5 seducer on offbar when dropping the monsterset.
Another pick would be 5 necro for stronger shields, or 5 winterporn, or 5 desert rose.

Edit: You might be better off with necro and seducer. If u can keep your shields up at all times, u can completely ignore armorrating. Shields always take the same dmg. The most dangerous thing there is, if u cant refresh them fast enough. If u e.g. take a 10k hit have only 1k of shield left, the 9k unabsorbed dmg will directly hit your health unmitigated.

So armor rating doesn't count towards a stronger shield?
