All chars 50 @ CP 1900+. Playing and enjoying PvP with RdK mostly on PC EU.
If you want to level them, get PvPing. We have to PvE for 95% of the game when levelling skill lines, you have to PvP for those 2 skill lines that for some reason level together.
1. Capture Keeps and Resources
2. Fight in a small (2-8) group that is successful and killing players often.
3. Repair keep walls and doors with kits.
4. Try and enjoy it. Seriously, AP flows when you start spending evenings just trying to have fun in PvP.
The first few levels of Alliance Ranks do come very quickly. It does slow down, but only after you have access to the skills. Just take your time and try and enjoy the fighting.
I tried battlegrounds and cyrodil and both of these are extremely slow to level. Is there another way?
It's not too hard to earn about 20-30k AP/hr if you go to the most populated Cyrodiil campaign.
Kill a boss in Cyrodiil delve to get 20% AP boost, and either gank enemy players or if you are having trouble dealing damage maybe try healing. Also, make sure you go to each keep your faction captures.
Unfortunately, Battlegrounds mode doesn't provide much AP. You earn about 3x or 4x more in Cyrodiil.
any exp will level the individual skills, you only need pvp to increase the alliance war skill line and unlock the skills after that level them the way you would any skill
Dovie'andi se tovya sagain.
Niidro tiid wah fusvok dirkah.
Heh, you're basically asking if you can advance in pvp without PvPing :P
But yeah, you can get AP relatively quickly by just healing zergs, using fire ballistae against dumb groups of enemies, or just following a Zerg if that's your thing
Beware the battle cattle, but don't *fear* the battle cattle!
Heal random ppl, follow the zergs, but dont be grouped with them, that actually slows u down.
Do the 6 daily "Kill enemy <class>", u dont need the killing blow, just tagging them does.
Buy a fireballista, shoot ppl in the face. (dont ever shoot walls, they dont give ap)
Or: buy 2 coldfire ballistas from guild traders. U only need one, but having 2 saves u alot of reslotting. Buy repairkits from ap -> shoot twice, repair up, repairtime = reloadtime. u need 1k ap to repair back to full, u need 1,6k ap to buy a new standard fire ballista. make sure u r in a savespot and make sure theres no siegestealing jerks around before planting coldfire stuff.
If u can be arsed to get pvp-gear: vicious death is the best support set for siege weapons. it also doesnt care if u r magicka or stamina specced. additionally, have some kind of heal/cleanse/shield on your bar.
Check out the castles for savespots with normal fireballistas. sucks to lose a coldfire over the lesson of "that wasnt a savespot"
Flaming oil is great, when u can put two up above a door where ppl placed a ram.
If u wanna get good rewards at the end of a campaign, grind at least one char on each faction to ~400k ap. the toon from the faction with the bestest nightcappers should get ~30k gold.
Most important thing for an enjoyable time in the ganklands: Go to offline mode and deactivate zone-chat!
This is where the worthless scattershot catapult becomes useful...it has the largest AoE so it will tag the most opposing players, then when they inevitably bum rush a breach with oils pouring down and die, you get the AP.
Careful though, you will find after a certain amount of time that you come to enjoy PvP and PvE will become boring and predictable to you.
