Has anyone ever lost their chill in a pug?

Was in a random group. Normal mazzatun (thanks group finder)

I'm on a lowbie healer. First dungeon I ever qued for. Warden healer.

I tell the people where to stand to get the best healing and they refuse.

And I kinda lost it on an and got pissed off..

Has anyone else just lost it when the group won't function or communicate properly?

I don't expect or even fantasize that a Pug formed from Group Finder for Random, or even a Pledge, will communicate or listen. It does happen, but its rare.

If I want a group that communicates, I do so with a group from one of my guilds.

I once thanked a tank with no taunt for wasting everyone's time. But usually if a pug is broken with no chance of working out I'll just leave.

When I start to get frustrated, I start taking some mental notes and possibly make it into a funny story. Some people are so bad its funny - just maybe not when the story takes place, or for all parties involved.

Out of the three roles, I find healer to be the most stressful. Adds can't ignore taunts or damage, while some people just can't get out of the way.

Yes. But not anymore. Just leave. There are numerous signs.

If takes 5 minutes to clear first trash pulls; leave. If it's Vet DLC dungeon with anyone below 400CP, it will usually not go well. There are few cases where it does alright, but in general don't waste time.

Don't get mad, as there may be new players just starting out. They really don't know. Many won't listen to you because they want to play how they want to. Even if it is poorly.

If leveling a toon, wait till close to end of dungeon to pop xp pot. That way you know if group is ok or not.

Sucks dude. I've had to deal with bad team mates before... Mostly cause they wouldn't get out of red. I am not usually the healer, but I always have a healing ability on my bar so that I can support the healer when things get hairy.

funny story. I was doing Blessed Crucible II and we were at the final boss. I told them what I needed them to do, as I was the Tank. I check for ready, and engage when everyone says that they are ready. Then I see the healer standing there doing nothing. I see him move every once in a while, but otherwise refuse to do his job. I realize it's a lost cause once one of my DPS gets wreked. I stop everything and tell my group to wipe. The healer, then just leaves... after about 5 minutes in que, we decide to give up... the life of grouping with pugs

I wake up angry, so ya. I snap.

Just yesterday I was out in Cyrodiil PUG groups were trying to flip nikle. To their credit they got the door open, however they wouldnt run in, instead they meandered around the door. The red circles where oil was dropping on them causing literally 30+ people to die over and over didnt seem to phase them either.

I /yelled a hopeful message "GET OUT OF THE RED CIRCLES AND PUSH IN"

To no avail. As a wise man once said "you dont know what you dont know" So hopefully this thread and my post will server to help others in the future. Specific to Cyrodiil, you must PUSH INTO THE KEEP AND GET ON THE FLAGS TO FLIP IT.

Thank you again OP for this opportunity, I truly appreciate it.

Meh before i lose my chill i will just leave.

One time though i qued up as dps for vet random found a group we started. It was going ok but i kept getting aggro and having to heal. Not really thinking much of it we continued. At the first boss is when i realized we had no healer or tank. Just high level dps that qued as healer and tank. I figured meh whatever it was wayrest so what, we can do this. Well ...we got to the final boss and everyone kept getting one hit..... i would be the last one alive trying to revive just for them to get one hit again.

I knew we could have done it if i really tried. I was on my stam warden and slotted vigor and fungal spores and was dps'ing tanking and healing. After the 2nd wipe i decided it wasnt worth the headache because these fools couldn't stay alive. i just left.

I've had pug healers that didn't heal, pug tanks that didn't tank, pug DPS that the two of them combined had like 7k DPS... Recently I got a random for Arx and the "tank" kept standing in the first boss snake's AoE heal thing... I don't get mad at video games though. I just sigh heavily, cry/die a little inside and put on some good vibes music and sing to myself it try and ignore the utter stupidity some people just seem to be. Or just cut my losses and leave because I don't have much patience for those that are just flat out unwilling to try or learn.

I've lost it. Hard-core. Tank with no taunt, dps queueing as tanks, etc etc.

When it's a normal pledge and I'm on my max toons, I'll simply solo the boss myself while adding commentary during the fight. "This is how we roll. This is what we block. DPS should kill adds."

I really only play tanks and healz so I kinda get to do what I want.

It's easy to get frustrated in a group that is random. Just remember not everyone thinks like you and some people do not even have a mic or chat on to hear or read what you are saying.

Why do people expect randoms to listen to them and get upset when they don't listen? If you want to always have successful and efficient runs join a guild or group of like minded players. Save yourself the unneeded frustration if you are not built to handle it. . .

Tanks can generally stand wherever they want if built right...but he probably just didnt know standing in the snake AoE heals it or he would have moved, I didnt know that AoE healed it if I stood in it as a tank till I was like VR12, until someone yelled at me about it, so its likely an honest mistake.

I have a guild. Really great people. Mostly maxed level. And ya the group finder has its problems. But honestly I've learned its quicker to get into a normal dungeon with the que then it is to ask a bunch of end gamers to run you through.

I found myself yelling at my screen the other day.

    Res someone mother F----!!!
    Res someone you stupid S---!!

I carried on long enough that my 9 year old said, 'Dad. We are trying to watch our language. You should apologize to them.'

I don't mind so much wiping or people running around like chickens with their heads cut off. But what does drive me mad? Getting stuck simply because no one wants to res anyone. Most dungeons even the vets if the group is even mildly bad, if you just get people up when they die you can get through a lot of them.

Nope. Let's just call the dungeon here because we lack the dps to kill one of the chainers and when that one person chained and killed is me no one else revives. So I spend the next 1-4 minutes laying there dead watching the group get killed one by one.

    Just res someone mother f----!!!!

-When the tank isn't a tank and is a stamina dps and then wonders why he's always dying.

-when the Healer isn't a Healer, just a magicka Templar/Warden with a healing spell on their bars and not one support spell in their arsenal then wonders why everyone is dying.

-when the dps'ers can't understand mechanics after having discussed it with them twenty thousand times.

Nope. I assume that every time I queue I am going to be running with people who have never run that dungeon before. I only use the group tool for normal dailies so I know that if people are struggling, I can pick up the slack and carry the group through. I save vet runs for friends and guild.

I've left quite a few groups that just couldn't do a dungeon, I try to help teach them how and if I have some who listen and others that don't I just let the ones that don't die and heal the ones who are listening and at least attempting to do it correct. I'd rather have one good dps with me healing kept alive than focus on someone who won't listen and let the one(s) who can get us through die.

I honestly believe that there should be a level/cp requirement for DLC dungeons but I really don't see that happening, and honestly I've seen people at 600 cp that had no clue how to play their class, so 6 to 1 1/2 dozen to the other.

Main thing is, this is a game, if you're getting mad over something in a game, then quit doing that something or find another game. It's all about the enjoyment.

I main heals and spend the vast majority of my time in dungeons, it's just what I like doing. I run dungeons back to back if I'm online. I've seen every sort of bad player you can think of, multiple times over. Tanks not taunting, tanks who just aren't tanks at all, crazy high cp dps who would be put to shame by a lvl 10 brand new to the game dps. Dps who intentionally run into the red one shot mechanics or just stand still during boss fights. Dps who only light attack during boss fights. Tanks with bows that only light attack. Players who call out mechanics incorrectly and then get mad at everyone else when they keep dying over and over.

Most of the time I see it as good training. I got to the point where I could heal stupid a long time ago, so I'll usually let things ride. But every now and then I'll get a bit pissy at a player (usually because of their attitude, and when they're the worst person on the team). Then I'll vote kick.

Not the "verbally eviscerate a guy" kind of lost it, but the quiet "ok kid enjoy your multiple deaths then" kind, sure.

Not all that often though, even in PUGs. I know people have all kinds of crazy awful experiences, but that's been fairly rare for me. As long as everybody else keeps their temper, I do too.
