Literally the one aspect of the Warden that I was looking forward to ended up being very disappointing.

In truth my expectations exceeded reality. I was hoping for a true pet class, this just isn't it. However, I am enjoying the Warden, though I would not turn down tweaks and adjustments.

Worse than my daughter, falls behind and when I turn around to look for him.....he's gone.

I especially like how sometimes it's nowhere to be found during battles or would rather be napping.

I found it marginal and tend to go with other ultis on my stam and mag warden.

But it is an issue i have with many of the pets, even though i like the pets. It is exacerbated by the warden being an ulti, which is a key player in the overall effectiveness of the character.

My biggest issue is with any pet where a significant part of its benefit is single target focused.

there are not sufficient controls to guide the pet as a "single target" attack precisely enough to make it perform if that is a key element. At least, not for me. So it becomes more or a sort of random damage thing and while i might can handle that as a clanfear i am using for heals and tanking, not so much on an ulti.

Additionally, i dont want there to be sufficient controls to allow me to precisely guide my pet because i need to be spending my time focusing on guiding my own character effects and actions. pace is such that guiding with precision two separate entities would be more than i can or would be happy doing.

So my overall viewpoint is that pet strengths need to be non-single target elements. AOe, buffs, group effects etc or even the heals which find you are all good examples.

one possible revamp could be if you took the bear and had two morphs (on top of its usually wander around and bite at things on occasion):
1 - tanky with increased aggro and defense/heal for itself so it draws lots of fire and survives it... maybe having its key-click be an area aggro plus "nova-like" aoe damage and damage debuff.
2 - CC with not so much tanky but still good agrro potential and its key-click being an AOE fear effects with a lingering debuff.

So, the key is, i dont feel it is something that suits my playstyle right now, but that is common for me and the single target damage-based pets across the board.

Which is why i give it a meh and not a poor.

I would love to pick one of the choices but my Healer Warden has never even put a skill point into the bear ultimate so I could not tell you first hand.

I can understand they might not want the bear to be OP or for it to overshadow the Warden itself. But god I wish they had actually made it useful. I would have loved to have had a RP reason for a bear to be following a Warden character in its backstory. So far....nope.

I like my bear but my Warden doesn't do Trials and what have you, just trundles around Nirn with a bad temper. The bear could be tweaked, yes, but these two are a pair, no doubt about it.

I need but three things out of my bear that it currently doesn't to in order to be happy with it

1 - Lemmy use Nature's Grasp with the bear. Please

2 - The ult needs to take some setup to land...and all implications that come with this. This means that if I CC my opponent and then press the ult button, the bear should run up (not waddle, not frolic, not meander, but run) and smash. It should

3 - Target switching and a 'come back to me please, mr. pet' button. Heavy attacking to change targets is too clunky, and a callback button would fix all the other issues I have with it.


Heck the Bear is damn sweet when it actually works. Unfortunately, it's done what I wanted it to - or functioned how I expected it to - all of once.

Its ok but needs improvements.


Basic attack needs to hit harder or have some secondary effect like a bleed.
Needs to appear in fights 100% of the time not randomly vanish.
Triggering the ultimate needs to be better, sometimes the bear doesnt even attack when the ultimate is triggered.

My bear died in combat a long time ago so now i run selenes so his spirit lives on through me.

He's done ok for me so far while questing in pve, dailies etc..
