I'm really sad that something already controversial has seen changes which are stacked even more against the consumer.

It really makes me sad that Zenimax/Bethesda/ZOS at whatever level this gets pushed have lost perspective of making games for their fans and care more about the money.

Hey, shouldn't be surprised I mean... paid mods right?

YASSS! This is the Turelus I like :sunglasses: Dont have that new rank turn u too Vanilla ;)@Turelus

    1. Make an apex reward an apex "coupon" that allows users to pick the apex item they want. The prices are so high that it's unlikely people grind past one apex mount anyway...just let players have the damn one they want, you already charged them like $100+ for,the damn thing.

    2. If they must include garbage in the legendary category, make this a choice as well. Meaning ONLY ONE furnishing item, ot 3-4. Like make a Clavicus furnishing category. The first time you pull it, you can choose a statue or a tapestry or a banner. The second time, you can choose one of those again or trade for gems.

    3. Collapse items into packs. Three eyeshadow rewards is ridiculous. Make this a pack of three eye shadows instead of three rewards.

    4. Change exchange rates. Offer 50% gems for repeat items, and 25% gems for ANY item.

    5. Fix RNG. No item should come up more than 20% of the time. Look at how pissed people are over the Nix...you're burning out your customer base.

    6. Standardize reward tiers. For example, eye wear, hats and tattoos ALL stay in the 16 gem category, costumes in their own category and pets all in one. Discount one if it stinks, but no 100 gem flower hats.

Good suggestions! I also think the fifth bonus card should work the way it does in Gwent by CDPR. First 4 cards as normal, then a fifth card GUARANTEED, but you are shown three items of rare quality or better and get to choose which of the three you'd like to keep as your fifth card.

They absolutely need to make this system more consumer friendly if they want to keep Crown Crates in the future. You're right that if consumers are paying $40+ for these things (many paying hundreds of dollars) they should be guaranteed the items they want.

I have to disagree with this thread about the new crown crates:

    1) The OP suggested both Nix-Hounds are too common AND there are too many rewards preventing the earning of crown gems. If they did realise they had to try and offer a similar return on duplicates, surely having certain rewards more prevalent would be the way to go?

    2) From my purchasing of 60 crates (at a cost of 20k crowns, which cost me £24 per 5500, meaning I paid £1.45 per crate, or $1.75 approximately). I also received 414 gems from my turn-ins which bought me a super awesome camel.

    3) I did not receive a billion nix-hounds. I certainly didn't receive zero, but I don't feel in a system designed for GAMBLING that I received too many.

Crown Crates should be seen for what they are - a gamble. Like the billions of people on this planet who gamble every day and lose, getting frustrated is not going to help anyone. I think the suggestions regarding being able to turn in any reward you dont want for 25% of it's value is a positive one, as well as the potential Apex coupon system... but the rest is basically going "please stop making it a gamble."

Perhaps they need a big blazing sign telling people "YOU ARE GAMBLING, BE WARNED YOU WILL LIKELY BE DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE IT IS GAMBLING."

While the gambling aspect may be part of it, the fact remains, too many nix hounds have been recieved by others. At even odds no one person should pull nix hounds over 50% of the time. The fact is there for the taking. While a few people haven't had that result many more have. Since we won't be privlaged to the info we are left to our own conjecture.

The fact that rewards have been added to dilute the pool is another example of the crates going in a bad direction. I had nothing to say before about the crate system, but the way they are doing it now has definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. They already had enough fluff in them, adding more possible rewards, while its sounds customer friendly, made it where you had to spend more money to buy the apex mounts. The fact that the nix hounds pet is even a lower tier than the other pets also speaks volumes about why it is pulled more often.

As I stated before I was not and am not against the idea of the crates. What I find offensive is how they have changed the way they were by adding additional fluff and adding crate only exclusive items. Before I could spend a finite amount of crowns and get what I wanted eventually. Where as now I may spend unlimited amounts and never recieve one of those items. I have no problem gambling at all, but we are also talking about items in a game that we have no ownership of when it comes down too it. If I gamble for real life items I at least have those to do what I please. We aren't talking about going to a casino where my money could possibly turn into real money, we are talking about pixels that have no monetary value. The odds have been raised and I think it may be to a point where some have had enough. I know I have.

It's a pity, I really wanted the Dro cub.

Exactly the same for me. I was about to buy a pack or two of crates then I read some threads here...

I'm seeing a lot of negative posts about the dwemer crates. Could someone at ZOS please comment on this? I've been purchasing a 15-pack each 'season' with no expectations of what I would get so it hasn't been that bad but if dwemer crates don't even feel fair then I think i'll put off purchasing any until this is addressed.
