I’m currently running a pet sorc, I have found that if my volatile familiar is killed during combat that I occasionally run into trouble when trying to re-summon him. Basically, as soon as I summon him he appears for a half second with his hand on his head and screams then vanishes, as if I’ve unsummoned him. At first I thought he was more susceptible to damage during summoning so, I tested it and it happened three time in a row when I was playing around with a target dummy.
I have the familiar on both bars and I’m not bar swapping when it happens and the only time he fails to summon properly is during a fight.
Has anybody else encountered this or better yet can explain why this might be happening?

My thought when this happens is I have rushed going to the next thing. Every skill with an activation time has a time lapse where anything performed cancels the cast and nothing is done. In the case of summoned pets the animation begins even if the cast is canceled.
