One last question, I'm starting to wonder if the Warden is right for me for PVP, (could be getting slammed so hard not the class), should I stick out and get him to 160CP first then try other classes? Or just level another character to 50 and see how it is??
Pvp is not very good in this game at all.
At best a small group of 10 guys will bait a bunch of lower level, unorganized players into a pinch point and then abuse every exploit they can against them times Infiniti.
Always has been and always will be pvdoor.
At worst you will lag every 3 seconds get kicked and when you reboot the keep you were defending is now owned by another alliance.
ok good tips so far, also running Magick Warden unbuffed my hp is 16k with buff food, should I not be in light armour then?
And do I just enchant my gear with Health?
You exp guys remember when you are new and no guild with limited funds and access to stuff, just keep recommendations to that kinda criteria :-)
PC EU if that makes a difference.
Just hit my first level 50 last night (early this morning), today im cp 47 and went to do some PVP. After several hours I have killed Not one person, and died every single time to a single stun, unable to do anything until I am dead (Normally about 3 seconds at most).
Is this the state of PVP? And if not how long before I dont die in a single stun?
I was really enjoying the game but have now lost any motivation as well.... where is the fun or skill in killing someone before they can do anything?

Mag warden is fine. I am tankier and do more damage on my light-armor mag warden than on my magblade. Stick with it. I don't agree warden is a support class. The damage potential is definitely there.
I agree with much of what's been said. The PvP learning curve is steep. CP50 is a bad place to be, scaling-wise, and so on. My recommendation would be to get your character to CP160 via PvE grinding, Undaunted quests, and so on. Then you can invest in some gear that will last you, and that you won't outlevel anymore. If you want to stick with light armor, buy Necropotence jewelry and 2 body pieces. Get someone to craft you another set, such as Shacklebreaker. Get one piece monster helm that gives you magicka or health. With Shacklebreaker you can experiment with different foods that gives you health / magicka, health / magicka / stamina, or health / magicka / magicka regen. Weapons should be gold quality, armor and jewelry need only be purple. Jewelry enchants should be gold. For a weapon enchant, a popular thing these days is the Oblivion damage rune.
As a light armor user you will probably want to run shields, e.g. Harness Magicka and/or Healing Ward, which you'll have to use every few seconds. Use a destro staff and resto staff. Pay attention to the passives when laying out your build. For example, I use:
Crushing Shock
Screaming Cliff Racer
Deep Fissure
Inner Light
Harness Magicka
Northern Storm
The reasons are as follows:
Deep Fissure -> Cliff Racer -> Crushing Shock, cast in that order, create a single burst of damage. Deep Fissure has a 3 second delay. Cliff Racer also has a delay. By the time you cast Crushing Shock all abilities hit your opponent together, which is hard for them to deal with.
You need a CC, something that will *** down / disable another player, that they need to break free from. This gives you breathing room and wastes their stamina. In this case that's Deep Fissure.
You need a destro ability on the bar to avail of the 8% Flame staff damage bonus. This is Crushing Shock, here.
Inner Light increases your magicka, as does Northern Storm. These two abilities go well with the Necropotence set.
I put Harness Magicka on this bar, since shields scale with magicka. Damage and shields both get buffed from Inner Light / Northern Storm.
Note that Cliff Racer heals you, due to a passive in that skill tree. Heals from your main spammable increase your survivability, so I would spam that, rather than Crushing Shock, when you're not doing the burst combo.
The other bar should have Healing Ward, Netch (to trigger Necropotence), and probably the Healing Thicket on it. The rest is up to you.
Needless to say, this is just one way to go. Some people like all the other warden healing abilities. I don't. I'm kind of describing a classic strategy for any magicka build, similar to a sorc or magblade.
Furthermore, make sure to fully level your alchemy, and avail of the Medicinal Use passive that prolongs potion uptime. Then get potions that include Immovability, so that you can't be knocked down for 15 seconds. I prefer the potion that combines Immovability, Detection and Magicka.
Finally, I highly recommend duelling. Duel against people of your own CP and experience level until you get better. Best thing to not get disheartened, and you'll begin to appreciate each class individually and how they fight.
Final, finally: Wizard's Riposte is an excellent defensive set that will make you quite tanky, while retaining the cost reduction and crit / penetration benefits of light armor.
Is this coming from someone who plays a lot of BG? In my experience you get absolutely annihilated in BG, and open world is much easier on the whole. In duelling you'll also find many good players, who'll annihilate you, but you can pick and choose duelling partners who you can grow together with.MurderMostFoul wrote: »Then join BGs, you'll get lots of small scale experience w/o getting steamrolled by zergs.
