Would it make them useless even if impen applied to their mitigation?

Just a thought.

If they are, however, then your crit resistance stat should apply to your shields. This would result in worse balance issue among traits if impenetrable becomes essential for most PVP builds.

I would suggest to nerf impenetrable trait so it provides less crit resistance, buff some of the other traits like infused, maybe add cc break cost reduction to well-fitted, significantly buff nirnhoned armor trait, and please remove prosperous trait from the game. Also the weapon traits charged, powered and nirnhoned would benefit from slight buff.

This poll will commensurate with these questions:

    1) Is your main not a light armor magicka spec?

    2) Is your main a light armor magicka spec?

Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

I don't use shields (often), and I don't think they should be crittable. I like different defenses having different strengths and weaknesses.

damage shields already have 0 Resistance, you dont need to be able to crit on them to.

If not then a max limit equal to max health, and a cooldown on shields being applied.

I don't PvP seriously, so I don't have any gameplay thoughts, but just thinking about what a crit is supposed to represent (a hit against a particularly vulnerable location), it wouldn't make much sense for shields to be crittable.

That kind of "what does this mean inside the fiction of the game" reasoning shouldn't be used alone to justify what is fundamentally a gameplay decision, and fun, balanced game should be the primary concern, but an effort should be made to ensure the gameplay doesn't conflict with the narrative, if it's possible to do so.

Anyway I didn't cast a vote because I don't have enough personal gameplay experience to have a relevant opinion :p

SHIELDS SIZE CAN'T CRIT. YOU CAN'T CRIT. ITS AS SIMPLE AS IT IS.

Lol, imagining 80k+ shield health from a crit build mashing shields

    It's.. complicated.
If shield can be crittable, they need to take armor/resistance/crit resist in account, and also block mitigation. They also need to be able to crit. It would change a lot of things, and probably break far more than it'll even fix.

Your logic is correct. Damage shields have no weak points, and therefore should not be critable.

But logic was thrown out the window a long time ago when they made so many abilities undodgeable when they should be.
