People will not care now that it is happening to Mathiisen. Except the home owners.
This thread will be buried in the Bug report section, like Hunding's thread was, although there is no bug involved at all - this is intended.

All home owners, even the cheapest ones, should unite to demand ZOS to not make any changes to their homes - except to fix obvious bugs.

Personally, I'm not spending one more cent in housing until we get a good explanation on why they are making those unasked for alterations.

I never even saw the Hunding's thread. :anguished:

I saw the Craglorn cavern thread but I thought from reading Gina's posts that it was being looked into.

I will not be buying another house or any furniture until we hear something. I agree everyone who has purchased a house either through gold or crowns should stand together on this.

Actually, there is already a generic thread about it:

I too want an aknowledgement whether it is intended or bugged as I also paid for the Manor myself.

Now next time you have dinner with your family bring up this subject about virtual cosmetic items and the law. Ask them is it correct that once a consumer commits to purchase and downloads/unlocks digital content that they waiver the right to legal recourse and refund? (they will answer yes, because that is the law regarding digital goods, slightly different in the USA and Europe but the bottom line is digital goods are not physical goods and have no cooling off period once unlocking is instigated by the consumer) The only recourse a consumer has in the digital goods world is direct contact with the developer, explain the issue (in this case windows) and ask for the matter to be resolved, the developer can flat out refuse or to protect their own brand identity offer a refund/compromise, it is their choice, no law exists to force them to adhere to a refund policy where downloaded/unlocked digital goods are concerned.

It has to be a bug. I see absolutely no reason why they'd do such a *** move. Unless of course, it's was either the windows or proc sets that had to go. Seems it was the windows. RIP my prutty windows. :(

If the windows have been removed intentionally, I will be asking for a refund as it's not what i bought into (used crowns for that house). Next update no doubt all housing will just be a square featureless cube with no distinguishable features.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_RichLambert Looks like your *** company keep doing shady moves without making it public! This is not the first house you make changes to without notice. Just like you previously changed the way Crown Crates work by adding mounts that cannot be bought with Gems. Just waiting for Zenimax to be hit with that sweet lawsuit from SONY and Microsoft! Would very well deserved. Your company is a total disgrace in the industry.

    Agree.

    - Placing rocks in Craglorn Cavern
    - Removing shells and sea weed from beach in Hunding's Palatial Hall
    - Removing windows from Mathiisen Manor

And then Gina comes and asks for screenshots and explanation what happened. How the hell they don't know that they placed/removed some items from people's houses? I just don't understand it. These additional rocks in cavern appeared there magically? Looks like they have one big mess in their company if they are not able to control what's going on with their products.

People payed for these houses real hard earned money. Shame on you, ZOS. Again.

Mathiisen Manor has a lot of awkward stuff going on with it (from my personal experience). It was my first home, and home that I had asked to have a refund for (not too long after purchasing).

My advice to you is to ask for a refund of the home, and go and buy a better place. If you do have your crowns refunded, and it all works? Be sure to follow any and all instructions that they tell you, and choose another home that you'll like.

I went from Mathiisen Manor to the Forsaken Stronghold. Loved my Stronghold so much, that I decided to buy the Grand Topal Hideaway upon it's release. So now I have my stronghold and island to relax at, depending how I feel. If I feel like living lavish and superficial, I have my island to roam about. When I feel like living upper-middle class, I have my stronghold. Those houses are like going and owning a Bentley and a Bugatti. One you have for when you're flexing. The other you have as your daily commute.

Yeah I noticed that the light was still shining into the house. Gives me hope that it's a graphical bug, and not intentional. It doesn't make any sense for it to be intentional.

It was fine when I previewed it earlier today. I had the same thought, that maybe it's a problem with the wall texture/style (although then it should be affecting ALL altmer buildings).

They sneakily removed the lighting/windows in paid houses and hoped that you wouldn't notice so in several months in the ESO Store they can sell you a "lighting pack" for 1500 crowns.

ESO support are typically helpful in response - they don't know and they have absolutely no intention of using a bit of initiative to find out - clearly he feels that bricking up the windows is an improvement.
    Greetings!

Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team. My name is BLANKED, and it's my pleasure to assist you today.

I understand your concern about the recent changes made to some of the houses. Generally, our development team tries to make improvements to the houses, when they make any changes at all. I cannot tell you when or how they'll address the recent changes; we only know what they've released publicly. I'm sorry we couldn't be of more assistance.

Thank you for your continued interest and support. Have a good one.

Judging by that reply, and as per usual, ZoS will not have the decency to give us a proper explanation. We never warrant a proper explanation. Instead we're given the title(s) "entitled" or "rabble rousers" by fellow gamers. Well, had i paid gold for this, it would have been water of a duck's back, however, as crowns were used and because I would never have purchased this particular house based on the current cosmetic look, I'm going to ticket them for a refund of those crowns. They're welcome to take the house back, but it is simply not what i purchased. If i wanted an interior like a soulless castle I'd have bought one of the keeps.

The issue with Mathiisen is not really in line with the changes to Earthtear and Hundings. Added rocks inside a cave or two missing items on the beach are nowhere close to a house without windows inside. I bought a house, not a cave! And still, the light is shining through bricks. I spent 40 hours at least to decorate it and my work got blowed up with a single update.

So don't say people will not care or call this an intended change. It's obviously a bug! The only thing which annoys me is that even in our german thread on this topic (started almost 1 week ago), we didn't get an official statement whether ZOS care or not. I get it that community managers aren't informed about everything, in fact they only know what they have to from a developper's point of view. But the information politics from ZOS are a slap right into one's face. Not a reason to blame community managers for or to get things dirty, but quite a reason for me to stop giving feedback and to simply quit if the game issues get too annoying. Sad, but true. It's their product, we are only customers. Unhappy customers usually don't complain; they stop paying and find themselves other ways to spend their freetime.

Btw the response you got from (blanked) is a standard one on housing section, I think whoever wrote this didn't even know what you were talking about. Wouldn't wonder at all if the support were an indian callcenter-company

its no different than buying the game brand new with cash, playing it for a month and then downloading a patch to find out that your character has been nerfed/buffed/rebalanced or whatever you my choose to call it. What needs to be relayed from ZoS is whether the changes are intentional or an unexpected bug which they will address.

Actually in some jurisdictions making post-sale changes to things that have been purchased with real world money or thinly veiled equivalents is illegal and the law in this whole area is still being made so your name seems oddly appropriate right now.

Actually, from what I understood, none ever bought a house with real world money. Everyone bought Crowns, not the items that can be acquired with Crowns. That's the kind of details that can help their company get away with their ever shittier and ever more disrespectful behaviour.
