I find ESO to be much closer to GW1 than GW2 was.
HoT had like 6 times more content, is like comparing a KIA with a Lamborghini, stupid poll and this is the ESO forums so people will mostly vote ESO.

HoT to me feels much richer like ESO morrowind so much achievement so much thing to do, more then only 50 hour like here now. (Solo content+ solo achievements). But soon I had to find out that nobody was playing HoT, there everything are group content, but there are no players on HoT zones, even when there was a daily achievements. Most of the day I w8ing to see someone there, everybody plays on the new Living Story zones
So I finally left and came back to ESO. HoT there like here Craglorn 0 player. if you want to do everything (no trials just quests and zone quests, etc), you need premade groups, difficult to find anybody, not like world bosses in Wrothgar or in Morrowind.
But Imo HoT much better! Why?
- There is a Champion system too I forgot what is it name, but it is horizontal progress, no need whole game balance time after time, and the feeling you can unlock everything but here 630/3600 CP not the same feeling. I like much better horizontal progress.
- New system: Gliding. Interesting part, that was amazing, so much fun with daily mini games on HoT zones.
And 2 very awesome system that ANet did, respect, congratz.
- Chat servers, you can read all message after a character change or zone change, you don't miss any message during loading screens.
- Update, patch system. OMG this is huge, never a maintenance, and so small downloads, just download that is changed, and you can play during downloads.
But in vain the best update system that I'd ever seen, if the game is not so fun as ESO
If we ask a question for ZoS, what is mini games in ESO, they say. Open chest with lockpick, thievery, deer hunt with bow, collect plants.
If we ask the same from Anet they have a very different and much richer answer. That is missing to me here in ESO only one, just only one, but it very
In Eso there is some interesting mini game quest, but that is only quests and cant repeat, and yes no reason to repeat.
For example the racing, touch the checkpoints.
TL;DR. IMO ESO much better then GW2 but ANet did some very good system, fun content.

Arenanet is a company who are truly passionate about what they do and is all about community.
Zenimax is all about money.

That don't mean ether was good for the game tho at lest in gw2 there was char progression and every one got new skills in MW every one got nerfed
and HOT is why i quit gw2 and been playing ESO since. HOT felt like it went against every thing gw2 was
i lasted 3 months after HOT i feel like i will still be playing eso for a long time will just be more careful in buying junk dlc disguised as a expansion at full price

Ouch!
I agree though, because in GW2 you can buy gems/crowns with gold. In ESO, gotta pay $$.
The living story in GW2, free. ESO gotta pay the $$ or subscribe.
New AvA map in GW2 free. Couple new PvP maps in GW2 free.
The story in GW2? I actually pay attention to and can recall.
The story in ESO? All I remember is manimarco did something bad and has to be stopped. Hardly recall doing anything with Lydia.
But in GW2, the dragons taking over, rtylock, kasimir, all those characters even if I dont remember name I remember what they look like and sound like because as you said, they are passionate with their work and you can tell from going through those storylines. Also with the jumping puzzle and the 8 bit Super Adventure Box.
The alliance war in ESO? Havent got a clue whats going on, too many narratives, dont even remember how each narrative ends. And how can they progress with all these different narratives? Adding completely outta nowhere content like Morrowind? GW2 it at least progresses in a story like fashion.
I made this poll because when GW2 came out I was hyped, but Morrowind. I'm just not feeling it, even though Morrowind is the best Elder Scrolls Game. The price its at too, isnt anymore convincing. $59.99. Gimme a break.
WoW Legion is $39.99
GW2 HoT, I cannot rememeber but I dont think it was some $59.99, I think it was $39.99.
Basically, I have no urge to get ESO Morrowind, the price doesnt help, there was no buildup too it, theres really no connection from the game to connect it with ESO Morrowind, (think of GW2 and connection to GW2 HoT).
To me, it just feels like outta nowhere expansion, really nothing too it but basic MMORPG expansion stuff, new zone, new monsters, new class. And they slap on $59.99 cuz like you mentioned, they all about the money, and not really that passionate about the game, otherwise they would have connected the ESO game, with the ESO:Morrowind, like how GW2 did with living story into GW2: HoT
