I don't do vMA, that fixes the sissue. :) And having the suppose to be best weapon in game doesn't help at anything, a bad player will still be a bad player, not talking about OP since i don't know him... but how many time did i came across people with vMA staff in pledges Pug's which i was more effective then them, but being doing most dmg and not dieying like a stupid Gungan... their staff then didn't matter much at all... i still wonder how they got to get it though.....

The way you designed this game to drop vMA weps is stupid. If anyone wants a exact weapon.. say for example destro sharp they have something like 0.72% of getting it PER run. That is stupid. No token system, no system saying that after x amounts of runs you get the weapon just a straight 0.72% drop chance PER run. This is stupid.

This does not reward skill. Some people get what they want first try. Some are over 1000 runs without getting the item they want. Myself have only done vMA like 100 or so times and the only sharp item I have got is a restro lol.

"Play how you want" - ESO... I call bs. Should of said "Play based on what BIS drops first, trolol have fun without token system and insane RNG" because thats what people do.

I need 2 sharp vma staffs. I cant even get one, I may NEVER get one. Who knows. What I do know is I dont want to keep doing vMA and if this is your idea of keeping people logging in to do "content" you will find that with me and maybe others we dont log on due to a unlikely or unreasonable goal in which you have set. (No this is not a quitting post. So dont try to remove it to silence another complaint on bs terms)

Minute of silence to all those who have done 1000 runs and not got what they wanted. RIP BIS dreams... guess I will have bis minus weps.. Fair asf.

I understand how you feel. But for whatever the reason, the developers simply just don't care too much for making certain/specific Maelstrom Weapons easier to obtain. Whether it be with a: Token system, trade-in system, etc. The community has shared numerous ideas with the developers. But unfortunately, they are ignored for the most part. We can only hope and wish that 1 day ZOS tones down the layers of RNG involved. And on the day in which that comes, ZOS will have a myriad of appreciative and happy players playing their game from that decision. They'd probably also attract a fair amount of players who quit due to their experiences with RNG as well.

Please guys. Please change and or rework your RNG system(s). @ZOS_RichLambert @Wrobel @ZOS_Finn

Try playing Black Desert, then and only then will you embrace the RNG that ESO has.

Simple answer - tokens at a rate of 200 vMA completions for a choice weapon. Puts a cap on the rng.

What won't happen is a trade-in system at equal or less than the current theoretical rate (50-1, 100-1)

"They" know RNG sucks, because of course it does - it is plain to see by any thinking person. And clearly there are heaps of smart people working there.

RNG is a poor, even pathetic replacement or extender of content - but some manager won that argument.

RNG is a sad, exploitive - even cancerous method to raise capital for your game - but some manager won that argument re: apex mounts.

It is that manager that needs to go, but nothing we can do if we aren't ready to leave other than to voice our extreme distaste here.

Is what it is. That manager probably has had some good ideas too, but reckons (and says, in meetings) the word "practical" three times for every one time they say "RNG". But are anything but for their pet projects.

Just a guess, but I bet its a good one.

Just to make a point I just used a random number generator. I set it to 1-100 as the possible outcomes. I chose 44 as my random choice. 44 Representing the wep I want. I randomly generated a number over and over and took 105 attempts to get the number 44.

Using the generator took a second or so each time and it took 105 times to get the number I selected. ALSO the number was 1 of the 100 possible numbers. SO that is way more likely than the 0.72% rate that a desired vma wep would drop. It still took 105 including the EXTRA 0.28% chance added on top for free.

    Unreasonable.

Holy *** that's so wierd. Was going to post this exact same thing. With everything that's universaly hated in this game, if they started changing these things then it would be a sign that the playerbase is getting scary low.

The fact of the matter is that fixing this would take time away from dev'ing things that would make them money. As long as there are literally no game breaking bugs these things won't get changed until it is too late

You bet its a whine thread, you didnt offer a solution to the problem you just complained. Frankly its players like you that are the problem with the modern MMO. If you dont get what you want, when you want it you complain and woe onto anyone who accurately points it out.

You'll of course say "IM NOT A WHINER", you already did. No dude you just want your sharpened VMA staffs, you NEED IT 2 according to you.

Nope your not whining, tomorrow when you get up stand outside and look at the sky, Im saying it isnt blue. And not matter WHAT You say NOTHING can change that it isnt blue.

So the following two things were confirmed during the Morrowind announcement press interviews.
    1. They know RNG is a huge pain point in the game that needs to be addressed.
    2. They have (or were) talking about if a token system would work.
So they're listening and working on things, but it's not something I feel they should rush out and end up having yet another awkward bolt on mechanic which breaks everything.

A token system would work. There are literally no drawbacks. The question is just do they have the resources to code something like that into the game.

This is precisely why I did vMA once, just to enjoy the challenge of clearing it, and will probably never do it again.

    I have about...|
    | this much patience for RNG. Within my bounded limits of tolerance, I'll go along with it and accept what I feel to be a reasonable amount of it.

To that point, which I cannot neatly or simply define for others yet have a very profoundly sharp sense for in my gaming experiences, I'm ok with it. Past that point and I regard it as an abuse of my time and an insult against my intelligence.

For the most part, in most things, ESO's RNG doesn't bother me. When we start discussing Maelstrom Arena weapon drops though?

Yeah, no. I don't buy Powerball tickets either, because I can do math. Just because I don't know the exact chances for weapon drops and for weapon drops with specific traits in vMA doesn't mean that I'm incapable of making abstract estimates that are quite probably far more accurate than anyone would like.

Consider that it took me a good 4 hours to clear vMA the one time I did it. It was grueling and tested the limits of my abilities and my build, which was cool, but I didn't get anything I wanted or could ever use in my build's loadouts from any of it.

Lets presume that a destro lightning staff with the Precise (my favored trait on my front bar staff) trait has a drop rate of 1%. We'll be generous with the estimates others are making about actual drop rates, though that data is not, to the best of my knowledge, available to us.

Even if the drop rate were cumulatively aggregating, it could take me up to 400 hours and 100 runs to get my staff. The drop rates are neither cumulative nor aggregating.

There is a ridiculously amazing chance that I would never get the staff I wanted. Not in 4000 hours. Not in 40,000. Not in 4,000,000. It's gambler's fallacy to imagine that streakbreakers necessarily exist, or that repeated failure improves one's future chances of winning.

I am neither enticed by gambling nor do I appreciate being treated like I'm too stupid to recognize an asinine system when its punching me in the proverbial face.
