So you like this system because it makes it easier for you to overcharge for ***.
No, they like it because it makes it harder.
Yea I misunderstood his original point and edited my response, but it doesn't change the fact that the anti-AH crowd is all over the place with their arguments against it. Most of which are incorrect, as anyone that's ever played an MMO with a traditional AH can attest to.

You can sell your stuff in zone if you do not want to take advantage of a guild vendor.
Very true.
And someone can be a member of one of the many tracing guilds that get decent locations and some have weekly/monthly dues or raffle ticket requirements. Turn off guild chat and then they cannot be annoying.
OR we could have a normal Auction house.

Harder to corner a market and jack up prices on commonly traded goods with the guild trader system. It also provides a more interactive experience, being in a guild where everyone shares the singular purpose of wanting to sell at a specific location and keep said location.
I will agree that the UI is bad at the moment, but that can be fixed without overhauling the trade system.
exactly the opposite rite? if every independent player lists items then supply goes up and demand goes down. No guild can control the independents.
You see this is an Alliance versus Browncoats issue... Guild traders are the Alliance.

Heh....on one hand you have people claiming global markets cause rampant undercutting, and on the other, people claiming that prices get cornered and raised. Which is it?

Three people can't decide to dominate the market on high end items so easily.
More fluid market with vendors instead of central house.
The diverse economy is a part of the game many people actually enjoy. Central house takes that away.
Upsets people who want ESO to be WOW2.

This game is rated M (17+) no amount of foul language will be said here that a 17yr old has not heard irl. i do not see why mods treat us ADULTS like children. if you are not 17+, you should not be here.

Honestly, probably both. Some items (consumables most likely) would likely see massive undercutting and other rarer items would see an inflation. Good luck trying to buy your divines necro boots for 800k gold.
The only global auction house I have much experience with is the one from Diablo 3. From the botting and just massive amounts of crap being put on there, inflation was completely absurd. With myself as an average player with a couple million gold to my name after a year of fairly regular play, the top tier items were literally being sold for BILLIONS. And the commodities market was something like 100g for a semi rare consumable. It was absolutely inaccessible to the casual player base.
If there is even a slight chance that a global auction house would take the same path in ESO, I am completely against it. And no amount of complaining about how annoying guilds are or how unfair it is that you have to be in guilds that control traders will convince me that a global auction house will be better for the game.

Maybe if i could navigate the damn UI faster, i would use the Guild traders more. i am on PS4.

Prices are self regulated by supply and demand, that's how it works in a free market. If you aren't getting those boots for 800k, then they're rare and worth more than that. If you aren't able to sell your generic iron boot knob for thousands of gold, because 500,00 other people are selling it as well, suck it up, it's not worth that much. That's the beauty of an open market. Just because you want to charge an arm and a leg for an item, doesn't mean it's worth that much, or that anyone will pay that much for it...unless of course, they have a limited market subset to compare to *cough ESO cough*.
As for Diablo 3, that was an RMT game, so it doesn't really compare to traditional MMO markets.

And do you realize that if there WERE indeed an open, one-stop AH, that you would have to UNDERCUT a global price in order to sell your wares?
So in the end, you might make a bit less on individual items, but a bit more on volume sold. Nevertheless, hearing sellers argue about the virtues of the current system just sounds like elitism and greed.
How many BUYERS actually like it the way it is?

I take full advantage both buying and selling. I like the guild vendor system compared to auction houses from other games. I would like it better if I could do a search within each trader to see what is in their inventory. I'm in a top trading guild with a prime location and in a social guild that sometimes gets a vendor off the beaten path. Both work well for selling. If I am looking for a very specific item I want/need right away I hit the major vendors. If it is something (materials for instance) that I might not have an immediate need for I quickly check a vendor as I am going by to see if I can catch a deal. Two nights ago I was able to unload some writs worth six or seven vouchers each and purchase one writ worth 86 vouchers. Took me maybe 15 minutes to find one that was below average price. Time well spent as that meant I didn't have to spend time doing 12 different writs for the same amount of vouchers.
One person in our guild (that I know of) does almost nothing other than search for bargains that he can then flip for a higher price. For him it is the most fun part of the game. An auction house takes that away from him.
