It was 121 f (49 c) here yesterday, and 115 f (46 c) today... pretty much cannot turn the PC on from 2-6 for fear it will just overheat and cause damage. Its almost a lil past midnight and its still 89 degrees outside.. and the news constantly reminds us to conserve electricity at the hottest hours because we may cause black outs from straining the power grid... fun fun fun :#

I use gel-packs in the night to put my wrists on. Cools me right down.

At the PC, I use the bucket of ice-water for the feet-technique :)

My PC is a coolingmonster, even on the surface of the sun he wouldnt go past 40 degrees :)

Death Valley (USA) was 128° Tuesday and 127° yesterday ...

... supposed to only be 121° today.

Someone was able to swap out the front bar infused inferno staff for something else in Death Valley ... which had been reducing the cooldown by a few days while slotted ...

Ice+5 gallon bucket+ small desktop fan+ pvc tubing and you've got yourself a cheap AC. It works great. I made one just for giggles and I actually bring it when we're camping. It's a fun project to do and it will keep you cool when gaming.

Your graphics card might be overheating which will shut down your system. My GPU is Nvidia GTX 950 and it likes to overheat in really hot temps. I do run AC but I'm cheap with it as it is so expensive.

I opened up my computer case and I have a floor fan blowing right into it. This solves the problem in these hot temps.
Just make sure nothing will go inspect your open computer, like a cat sniffing around or something.

We're in crisis mode here. It's finally ticked over to 80 F from the safe zone in the 70's.

Put your feet in a cold/icy bucket of water. I advise you to not do that with your PC, though.

Why not? It's called water cooling and it's super effective.

the ice buckets with the fan tricks these guys suggest do work pretty good. you can also use a foam cooler if you wanna make it easier on your pocket. Cheap and pretty effective, of course you gotta refill the ice when it melts. My father in law used to make those hook up like 4 of those and you won't even notice its summer.

Well it reached 34ºC/93ºF here in the UK yesterday, which was unbearable and for which we are woefully unprepared, used to mainly some slightly sunny intervals amid the normal cloud cover.

PS4 sounds like it's about to take off.

Luckily today it's back to cloud & showers. Guess we've had our summer. B)

Why are you playing video games without a working ac? That would probably be my first priority... After dailies.

Get a BAF (Big-Ass Fan) and point it at your PC. It will help you a bunch. Also, not playing in a confined space helps as well. Leaving the door open with just the screen door closed for the breeze and perhaps a ceiling fan going as well.

Not having AC sucks, but you can still survive without it. I was stuck in central Texas for 3 months and had no access to AC while I was there. I made do with what I had.
