Is it true that certain mounts do not get stuck

On invisible small pebbles like the horse mounts do? If there is such a mount that does not slow down because they hot a tiny rock, what mount/s would that be? I been using horse mounts all this time and it is so annoying when I'm hauling ass and all of a sudden it slows down from an invisible rock on the ground.

I don't know why, but the mounts do ride differently. It doesn't make a lot of sense...I'm sure the programmers don't account for like leg length and stride. But my senche mounts cover the terrain better than my horses. And my skyrim mount that I got with the PS4 release is better than the others. No idea why

Lets see. My senches get stuck, my old style kagouti gets stuck, my guars get stuck, my horses get stuck, my wolve gets stuck. Maybe someone with elk, that new silly dwemer spider or con crate mounts knows more, but all my mounts stuck, slow down and make me cry like a streamer when his faw build/exploit gets nerfed/ removed.

Spider>Senche>Horse in terms of not getting stuck. But those are the only 3 types of mounts I own so I don't know where the other types fit in.

So, what I'm getting is that all mounts slow down when hitting invisible pebbles. Cool. I will stick with my horses then.

One thing I have noticed is that if my horse leaps while running, when he lands he is back to walking speed and I have to start sprinting again. If my senche leaps while running, he lands and continues on at same running speed. Not the same as the whole pebble-collision thing, but it does tend to make the senche a more enjoyable riding experience. I have learned enough of the game terrain and ridden through enough towns and areas enough times to know trouble spots. I can often leap over them on my senche with no loss of speed. But if my horse leaps, he may miss pebble, but he kind of stumbles and slows down and needs to regain speed, so you don't really gain much.

There is a huge difference between the Spider mount and (in my case) the Black Lion mount, and the horses. The horses are just horrible on anything but the flattest of surfaces. I read somewhere ZoS claimed they couldn't replicate this, which has to be the greatest proof they don't play their own game ever.

The white wolf and the normal wolf are not the doom wolf. The doom wolf is the black one with red eyes. Not sure if that makes a difference, though.

All my mounts experience the same random slowdowns. Imagine turning riding a mount into a chore.

I if I want a smooth ride for my character, a feline mount is the way to go. Followed by the Elk, of all things. Then there is the horse. If I want to scramble the brains of my characters I put them on the Bear or the Camel.

The Dwemer Spider is really really smooth. Just watch the trails from Rapid Maneuvers. But I dislike mounts that have excessive start up animations/sounds.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

My Spider does not get stuck and it goes like the clappers!

I suppose having so many extra legs is the key.

If one leg trips (on an invisible pebble) there are several other legs to compensate for it - not just one or three extra. The tips of the legs are pointy too, so they slide off from these mysterious pebbles.

I am convinced it is faster than my other mounts. Each leg is supported by the many other legs. It does not get as tired so easily and 'voila', Bobs your uncle! Speedy Gonzales watch out.

I would say, all-in-all, an altogether more efficient design.

I cant replicate this...2+ of play and there is no mount that gets stuck more often than any other. I have horses, guar, senche, lion, camel, even the kagouti and they are all the same, the only thing that is different between them is the skin.

Senche might be my next mount purchase. Or maybe saber cat. Those are probably the same as senches

I have characters that ride most of the different mount species and i can say without a doubt that horses stop and slow the most followed by bears, guar/khagouti, wolves, senche, and finally the dwemer spider being the smoothest ride ever. I dont own a camel, sabertooth, or the elk so i dont know where they stand

By the reasoning put forth in this thread, short toons would get stuck more often than tall toons. Do mounts sometimes get stuck? Yes. Does the type of mount have anything to do with it? No, its completely random, people are just reading into it whatever they want. Provide some actual data to back the claim such as x number of hours logged on mount A, divided by y number of halts vs the same data for all the other mounts. I bet what you will find is that the ratio is the same, or close enough to be statistically insignificant.

No, the spiders, for example are unquestionably smoother than horses. It's partly because of the extra legs but it's also probably because their feet have smaller collision boxes. The reason for the difference between felines and horses is less obvious.

Protip: Don't run into rocks. I've never once had this issue with any mounts, but admittedly I do see this problem alot so obviously it does happen to some people.

My Hearthfire Kagouti seems to sail across anything I put in front of him, even though he's got chunky legs.
