Players (bots) avoiding the new anti-bot system in dolmens

I'm more concerned by the fact that after you whispered to the bot it immediately stopped and logged out. There's a Skynet presence in ESO now - I'm sure of it.

What triggers this anti-bot system? Is it being in a group and getting XP while being AFK?

I'm saying that they should make it so you have to open the chest to get any XP. @CarbonX

Got you now. My fault, misread.

Allow me to disagree with that though, as I'm not in favor of modifying things that work correctly for normal/honest players because of bots or any other type of cheaters.

As far as I know, if you remain static in the same spot spamming a skill, blocking, or so, in or near the dolmen, you get red AoE below you followed by lightning damage that ends killing you.

    i see movie puns

    Planet of the Bots (apes)
    Dance with the Bots (wolves)
    Revenge of Bot lords (sithlords)
Bot on the 4th (born on the 4th)
    The Love Bot
    Bot's Run (logan's run)
    Gentleman and the Bot
    Pretty Bot

    funny isnt it?

i have seen that same behavor from unplugged (RIP) Asheron's Call, first bots i encounter back in late 2001, doing same way and send a tells, it log out and they have "GM Alert" program if any GM show up to check reports on UMC activities. they almost never bother check the loots unless treasure seeker program for specific drops

It amazes me the ways and lengths that people will go to just to cheat..

Should have seen the effort I put in to hide it from my ex :D

Why can't people just play the game properly?

    Botters sell accounts.

See I just don't understand this. Or gold sellers. Why the hell buy a game to play that you don't then play? What's the damn point?!

Yep, this was pretty much inevitable.

Bot prevention is a never-ending arms race: the dev finds a method to detect and clear bots, the botters find a way around that method, the devs find a new method to detect and clear bots, the botters find a way around that method, rinse and repeat ad infinitum. Doesn't matter what game it is; this is just the circle of life when dealing with botters.

Unless ZOS had a GM to perma-ban a bot as soon as seen or reported. One, just one GM specifically hired/put on that task would do.

The GM would not even have to be that clever. Visit the Dolmens in each zone, then the well-known spots that are constantly reported, in some kind of cycle.

    Done.

I would think even the most ardent botter would be deterred if they knew they could do all of that account and character set up only to be booted after 15 minutes.

I haven't seen or heard of a GM in-game since PC launch ...

I've just seen a player (CP170+) that x'ed in zone so she was automatically invited to a group. Once in the group, she got into one of the houses near the dolmen (Alik'r), came out to the balcony and went a...

while still gaining XP from the kills the group down at the dolmen was doing.

There's the fatal flaw. Groups may want to do a little house cleaning if they pick up a bot, or go with a non-generic code to add. Could very well lose add-on functionality if this becomes a thing.

They really need to just put a few GMs in the game with some Banhammer privileges and the bot problem would diminish.

    I would volunteer for it.

I'd volunteer for this too ...

My bot reporting resume goes back to when the game launched.
