Players (bots) avoiding the new anti-bot system in dolmens

I've just seen a player (CP170+) that x'ed in zone so she was automatically invited to a group. Once in the group, she got into one of the houses near the dolmen (Alik'r), came out to the balcony and went afk (or at least remained idle for a while). Suddenly, her character started to run from point "A" to point "B" back to point "A" and so, in an endless running loop in the balcony.

This way, with that script applied to her character (running constantly), she avoided the anti-bot system (if you remain static in the same spot spamming a skill, blocking, or so, you get red AoE below you followed by lightning damage that ends killing you). I was saying, she avoided the new anti-bot system since her character was in constant movement, while still gaining XP from the kills the group down at the dolmen was doing.

After five mins of watching her run in the same exact robotic pattern in the balcony, I whispered her, told her about what she was doing and a few seconds later she stopped, was idle for a few more seconds and then logged out.

Be aware ZOS of this behaviour/script please.

Thank you.

Why can't people just mindlessly grind like everyone else? I mean c'mon it's only 1 mouse button and the 'w' key to level at dolmens.

They can spend time questing through content, and doing dungeon dailys like the rest of us. You don't deserve your cp if you are not getting them by being at your computer.

I liked Dolmens before the whole merger, when it was a handful of players actually farmed them because they wanted to not just to grind exp. I put in a lot of effort getting Daedric Lord Slayer before One Tamriel.

Seriously! Just doing the first few quest lines for main story gets you close to level 10. But I see now, it's not the quests that a problem, it seems to be the CP system causing these bots. I read somewhere that until you have 160cp, all gear is pretty much useless and degrades as you advance in levels.

Questing as you go along will get you lvl appropriate gear and asking a crafter in your guild to craft for you also helps. It's by design in mmos that only max lvld gear really matters, the ones that complain about that the most is people whom are usually new to mmos. If gear scaled then you can equip a low lvld character with vma and bis gear and demolish in low lvl pvp. Lvling to cp 160 doesn't take to long.

Yep, this was pretty much inevitable.

Bot prevention is a never-ending arms race: the dev finds a method to detect and clear bots, the botters find a way around that method, the devs find a new method to detect and clear bots, the botters find a way around that method, rinse and repeat ad infinitum. Doesn't matter what game it is; this is just the circle of life when dealing with botters.
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

Unless ZOS had a GM to perma-ban a bot as soon as seen or reported. One, just one GM specifically hired/put on that task would do.

I still see bot trains with pets in several areas. The Dolmen fix didn't address that at all.

There was one yesterday that was completely obvious. Player and a bot. The bot stood right next to where the chest would spawn and not move. You could count to 5 and it would cast a heal that would not only heal itself but one of the other players. Count to 5 and the same heal. the dolmen would activate and you could see where they didn't move just continue to cast that same small heal after counting to 5. Fight after fight it wouldn't move at all, just stand in that same spot and cast the same heal. Came back almost thirty minutes after my last run and the same two characters were there. Healer in that same spot casting the same heal while the other one, probably the actual player, would move and check their bags etc. All the while you could count to 5 and see it heal.

As long as any game has no in-game GMs bots will always find a way to exist. Prevention methods more often punish players rather then bots. A good report system for players and in-game GMs is the only viable way to battle bots (assuming the game company is actually willing to ban cheaters which we know ZOS is not)

@OutLaw_Nynx, what do you mean? You don't need to open the chest to get the dolmen XP (you get it when anyone closes the last pinion) nor to get XP from the mobs your group kills.

They really need to just put a few GMs in the game with some Banhammer privileges and the bot problem would diminish.

    I would volunteer for it.

So apparently there's a website dedicated to botters complete with reviews!: http://onlinebotters.com/

    Wow, just wow.

P.S. If wannabe botter wants to find out information on botting, they can anyway simply by entering appropriate keywords into Google.

Then the script just adds an open chest command to the 5sec cast heal. Still doesn't have to move :|
Personally, I don't see an issue here with botters, it's an MMO and to be expected when your game has an arcane currency system, arbitrarily sadistic leveling/gearing mechanics.

To add: If someone out there wants to make money off this game, imagine the amount of....hmm...greediness? that Zeni has with their own product.

PS: Just in case y'all can't read my mind, the "innovative" above was sarcasm.
PPS: I mean, anyone who has enough skills to write a bot script surely can add some movement to that script to avoid the standing still damage.
