Unbalanced battlegrounds

Today, I joined a battleground, and then I got with me, one level 16 and one level 39, agaisnt 2 full groups of experienced players cp 630.

At the begining we tried to fight. But there no point to fight when 4 players jump on you at the same time. Especially with news players.

No need to explain how it's not fun at all, being litleraly slaughtered without be able to do something for those poor low levels. (even for me, all fights outnumbered are almost impossible because of sustain nerf and poor survivability)
They had absolulety zero chances agaisnt experienced players. The worst is, we can't leave because if we choose to do it, we are punished by a 20 minutes timer. At the end we just waited at our base the end of the deathmatch for leaving without penalty. One of these players told if he knew it was like this, he never join battlegrounds and in the future he stick to quests and dungeons.
But the opposite is also true, when your team is dominating because you are fighting 4 vs 2 vs 2, it's very boring too.

This is what is happening too many times actually during battlegrounds.

I note many issues about balance in battlegrounds:
pre made groups,
low levels players,
Sigil power, (wich are totally overkill and contribute to unbalance)
procs sets, (and some others skills, say hi soul assault or destro staff ultimate)
And there is still some issues about class and skill balance. (stamina heals in no cp are very weak and bad)

The battleground game mode was a very good idea, and I will not lie, it's fun sometimes when all teams had an equal number of players, but there is still too many problems who are destroying the fun.

Seriously, please dear zenimax, create another category for battlegrounds at least for players below level 50, as you did for cyrodiil campaigns. (kyne) And fix these issues.

spent a good bit of time in battlegrounds so far...

you are spot on correct concerning some of the balance issues in the game...

had one situation where it was a 4v3v2 capture the flag game...the team with 4 players quickly got to 400 points - then just started farming myself and the other player in our group of 2...

lord knows I've spent more than enough time in cyrodiil to know when I'm getting farmed :#

at one point i came upon 2 players from the opposing teams standing together, soon as i approached they both attacked me...

lord knows I've spent more than enough time in cyrodiil to know when folks from 2 different alliances are friends and eager to team up on someone else :#

it was funny - although we weren't mic'd, the other player on my team figured out what was happening also and we both just stayed up by our starting flag and just hung out there until the game finished...

shortly after the "winning" side figured out we weren't going with that particular flow - they finished the game...

Also I want to point out the problem with having leaderboards for the separate match types if you have no control with match types you play. It's all luck based instead of skill. Because if you want to raise your deathmatch leaderboard you have to be lucky and wait till you get into that mode. They need to either create only one type of leaderboard or enable the queuing of each of the battle modes. Also for the love of god change the leaderboard rewards. A gold item for getting in the top 100 is nice but how about you add some gold in there and some bonus AP? Being top of the leaderboards in battlegrounds is no easy picnic. Also your competing against the entire game population instead of just the people who go into cyrodil. At least there your fighting against the people in that campaign for the most part. In battlegrounds you are fighting against everyone in the game who wants to fight. So to be top 100 and most definitely top 10 or 1st needs some reward modifications because it's too simple

Im just going to leave this right here: Battlegrounds: Dead on Arrival?

Im sorry your first experience with BGs was what it was. I really tried to bring a lot of these concerns to the visibility of the community prior to the launch of morrowind but you can see the agenda driven pvp elite wanted to suppress the very issues you are now experiencing.

I am getting the feeling that ZOS won't fix BGs until it's too late. Perhaps they won't be fixed at all.

The excuse given to us as to why Battlegrounds took so long to release was that "they wanted to do it right". Things were meant to take longer but release in a good state.

This is not what we were given. Once again, I feel bad to recommend ESO to people unless they strictly want to quest and explore.

I play solo all the time and hop in and out of BGs alot. Sometimes I'm in the group of 2 sometimes I'm in an awesome group. Having gone with a few people in my guild before, let me put it this way: if you are not just in a premade group of 4 but in one that has synergized sets, classes and roles then you will lose to one that is. It's literally that simple.

Expecting that the game will balance you against a well thought out and well played group as a solo player is expecting too much. Especially with no clue on how many are queuing up.

It's an MMO, make some friends get a well coordinated and thought out group and win. If you don't want to do that then you get what you invest in.

This is part of why I don't like pvp in most MMOs. They're seriously unbalanced and unpleasant to play. I can't tell you how many times I've played a game in pvp only to remember the whole experience as being seriously slaughtered by people who play that aspect of the game day in and day out. The only game I've EVER played with pvp that seemed really balanced was the early days of Dark Age of Camelot. And not surprisingly, I had a lot of fun in the pvp part of it. Can't say that about too many other games.
    Clueless, but willing to learn.

Thanks for link this thread, I'll read this. I've seen a lot of interesting opinions when reading the first page already. And it's sad to see these issues were already in discussion a long time before morrowind release.

To be honest, my social skills are quit poor, and it ask me a lot of efforts for make some friends or socialize with others players. (I even left some guilds because too much socialization drive me mad get me tired very fast). Something who seems to be easy for you is not necessary the case for everyone.

Being forced to play in a premade group for being competitive or trying to having fun is a bit bad and sad. Not everybody can do that. (I'm thinking of news players for example).

Battlegrounds environnment are just like observating Cyrodiil with a magnifying glass. All flaws from cyrodiil are exaggerated and are much more easy to spot. It's just a microscopic Cyrodiil.

What annoys me most about battlegrounds , a pvp area is:

The fact that 2 out of 3 game modes make kills useless. You can go 250-0 in ctf or domination and you gain nothing from it. For a pvp area these game modes kind of ignore the main aspect of pvp... killing players.

I know these game modes have other aims apart from killing but killing should add something to the score. Even if its only 2-3 point per kill in domination or 5 point per kill in capture the flag.

Theres more as well in capture the flag there needs to be a bashable 4s~ animation when getting the flag instead of simply just walking and instant getting it.

Also flag carriers need to have an unpurgable snare on them, either 30/50% so players can catch up. Nothing worse than seeing a medium orc stam sorc get the flag and just sprint off and theres nothing you can do as a magicka player. You should have to work with your team to protect the carrier.

Kills should matter in domination as well because usually in that game mode if you end up fighting a good team and you don't instantly squash them and end up fighting them for 10-30s then you lose. The 3rd team who would of do nothing but run from flag to flag (how fun and competitive -_-) would have a big lead.

Any game mode where you can still win when going 0-5 is badly designed for a pvp game mode.

I have every character level 50, both a magicka and stamina version.

RIP my effort to get 5x v16 characters...

Kills do matter in both the no-Deathmatch modes - you get points for killing carriers, points for killing players to defend flags and so on... you just don't get points for killing aimlessly.

I kind of like that in 2 of the 3 modes it's about more than who has this weeks meta builds and a bit of smart play can tip the game.
