Anyone ready for new weapons?

    The game is already a nightmare to balance. Please no new variables.

    Honestly, would it even matter? As long as there is a sharpened trait for it then it will be all people want, and will just match it with the sets sets it drops for. They could add a tactical nuke to this game as a weapon, and nobody would give a damn unless it was sharpened.

    A 2h halberd that increase crit chance would be nice, already have a 2h version of axes maces and swords that have the same passive as there DW counterparts, Halberd would just be the 2h dagger equivelant.

    Flails would be a great addition to the S/B fighting style.

    Spears and Halberds are a must for me. I keep seeing spears everywhere, and in Morrowind I see statues of Dwarves(?) holding halberds and hate that we don't have them. The only thing is that 2-handing a spear sounds silly, and 1-handing a halberd seems useless to me.

    Personally, I disagree with the notion that weapons like spears and halberds are boring and would not be interesting or fun to use in a video game. TES III: Morrowind and World of Warcraft have spears, and I think Dark Souls games have spears as well IIRC.

    I'm not sure why developers like to avoid crossbows, though. That must be another "Rule of Cool" thing that some developers have where they think bows are infinitely cooler than crossbows for some reason.

    I think the last Crossbow I saw in an MMO was Asheron's Call. An armsman in Daoc might have been able to use one to pull too if I remember right but it definitely wasn't for damage.

    The last game I played with spears and halberds was LOTRO and I enjoyed them there even though with spears I prefer the option to go one or 2 handed with them. Both class that used these weapons (Captain and Warden) were a lot of fun to play. Captain was such a unique play style.

    I'd say some kind of magicka based melee range weapon. So something like a spell focus gauntlet or something to that effect.

    I still haven't got a vMA sharp inferno staff and you want to add another weapons into the loot table... I mean it would be great but only if some kind of a token system was implemented first.

    ESO NEEDS Alteration and Illusion staff skill lines to help diversify magic options. Alteration could be the "S&B" tanking staff skill line (freeing up frost to be reworked as a viable DPS option) and Illusion can focus on CC and de-buff spells for group support and utility.

    Stamina should have more ranged options - a Shortbow (or Crossbow) and a Longbow skill line, instead of a single "bow" skill line - one is faster, short-range sustained damage while the other is slow, long-range burst.

    The biggest problem with adding weapon types is the dilution of the loot table for specific gear drops. New weapons can't be added until ESO has a reliable token system in place for endgame content. vMA is bad enough with its unreliable drops - adding more crap to it only exacerbates the issue.

    As of Vvardenfell, dwemer spheres are using one arm with a crossbow and one arm with a lightning/blue steam shotguns. Right now.

    I wish, scythe, crossbows, short bow, longbow, claws, polearm, wind staff, earth staff, sword and rune, pff I can keep going.

    I'm up for something that has no alternatives now:
    Throwing knives or Surikkens (2w or 1h+S option for range stam DDs)
    Wands or Chackrams (2w or 1h+S option for mages)

    We have enough number of different kinds of melee weapons, no need in the any new ones. I'm not against it, but only after above ones.

    With the new model of yearly "chapters," it wouldn't surprise me if we get one new class or weapon each year. I'd expect onehand+rune to be next.

    Here are the new weapon types that would be great to add. That fit into common fantasy medival style
    some of which can be added into the current weapon skill lines.

    Duel wield skill line:
    Short swords like in oblivion days

    Staffs add Wands and tie in magic equivalent for duel wielding wands from duel wield skill line.

    For sword and board add tower shields and flails to the mix

    Add a new weapon category.
    Hand to hand combat.
    Weapons included in tree are:
    Brass knuckles , claws and magic aura (aka lighting flaming and cold fists

    Polearms!
    Short spear with shield
    Long spear
    Scythes
    To be added under the 2h and sword and board skill tree

    Mostly the weapons we're missing from earlier versions of TES:

    spears
    crossbows
    unarmed

    Whispering Fang should really be a thing.

    Plus, for stealthy magicka builds, something magicka-based that isn't a six foot long staff. It just looks so daft having a great long pole strapped across your back while crouched in stealth.

    I have almost every skill point possible in the game (398/399) skyshards, all areas done(I do mean all-minus vet trials and the new one on normal) You not suppose to be able to put points in them all. I can tell you though if get all these skill points on a character that isnt a crafter(with max SP's in all crafts) you prolly could come close. You shouldnt need too though. I mean the game is pretty cookie cutter sadly. As a magplar myself the odds of me using anything besides dual swords/resto/destruction is pretty low if at all. So why would I need skill points for the other weapon lines. The whole point of new weapons is to make new builds. Yes, we got warden.. but does playing a warden REALLY feel any different with the limits on available weapons we have had for 3+ years now.
