Difficulty is relative, some things are seeming hard for some players precisely becuse they got to go right up to that point with out any real challenge at all.

If difficulty ramped up evenly people would have to learn and adapt as they go, and by the time they got to any real interesting content they would have all the basics down and be in a much better position to start learning how to do the harder things.

Its like difficulty levels in games. Always play on the hardest difficulty, right from the start, because thats going to teach you the actual methods and tactics to play the game. Easier difficulties will just teach you wrong, and then you will have to unlearn the wrong way making learning the right way worse.

So the game lets you clear the main/guild/alliance story lines with out any real thought to your build or skills or equipment at all, you can just click away, and then what do people do when they try to take the next step? They continue doing what has been working so far, except now they are totally obliterated. Instead of being eased into it and able to see and understand how they could soon be able to beat it, they just gotta get some things nailed down, try some new ideas, they see a complete sheer cliff blocking them, lacking the experience to even begin to figureout where a solution is. And since the game has taught them they are great, they are the hero, everything has worked just fine, they assume that it must be the content at fault, not them, and so they complain about things being too hard, and they get nerfed, and the cycle perpetuates and continues while all the time it was never a difficulty problem, it was a lack of difficulty problem; the game did a bad job of teaching.

I always thought Molag was anti-climactic, especially given how hard the preceeding fight with Mannimarco was. It's almost like the difficulty level of those fights needed to be swapped.
Even on the internet, clear communication is important; it can be the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"; the difference between "knowing your s***" and "knowing you're s***".

It was way too easy on Console launch, a real disappointment. Not everyone is about quests / story line but I was really into it - and it was a big let down. I did it at VR1 with mismatched gear, low CP.

People do argue that you do have God Mode armour on etc etc.

OK, the Main Quest Story and bosses contained within should not be ultra hard. I am not even sure if they should be hard. It is more important to get the lore and the story than to get a challenge in this case. Challenges are supplied elsewhere in the game.

But, the current Molag Bal is a bit of a push over.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Solo instanced quests should have a hard mode setting in general imo. Set to vet mode in the party menu and bring back some superb difficulty to the main quests. More enemies, more health on them too, harder hitting, hell maybe even add some new mechanics to the boss fights like having to grab shards of meridias power during the molag bal boss fight and toss it at him.

Maybe an option for alts to activate a new game plus idea in that difficulty is increased for all quests for all characters after reaching cp160

he was already nerfed like in 2014/15 I started beating him fully naked only a weapon.....

I was happy to face him when he was a REAL final story boss

Agreed - the fight with MB was much better back in 2014. I recently leveled up a warden and beat MB naked and armed only with a staff and the dive bombing birds.

It seems that the Amulet of Kings is now God-Mode.

    Really disappointing.

I feel as though ZOS replaced "actual" Molag Bal with the "Simulacrum" of Molag Bal that you find at the base of the White Gold Tower in the Imperial City Sewers.

That molag bal is much harder, more devastating than main story line.

and its on purpose. World Boss v Single player story mode boss.

Therefore: the criticisms on how easy it is, seems unfounded and unfair. so what if story mode MB is easy? you do realize that completeing story mode is like 2.15% into the game right? that there is so much more and much harder challenges.

Im honestly a little disappointed in some of these comments that this game is "so easy" and "ESO is a degenerate hack n slash" when so many people are struggling with their first time in vDSA and vRoM. I know some top 1% endgame players still struggling to clear vRoM no death for their amberplasm skin. and youre going to say eso is easy? Disgusting.

I both agree and disagree with your thoughts.

I agree that the endgame is content like Mazz , VMA, vDSA, etc. is plenty challenging and even more so with the recent sustain nerfs; but if you have not fought MB at the end of the 5 Companions storyline lately then you may want to reserve comment until you do. They have made it virtually impossible to lose.

I remember it being very challenging as well...

I did it on my first toon, a Templar around level 43, that had an even split in attribute points between all three resources. She had a resto stick back bar and 2-hand sword front bar. I had the absolute worst choices in skills and morphs, and I was wearing all green heavy armor that I made (not sets, just crafted, generic armor).

    I was a mess.

Now, I am not saying that ol' MB wasn't nerfed into the ground, but, sometimes our recollection of events are affected by more factors than we give due credit.
