Are clocks anuic or padomaic?

In a vacuum, neither. Clocks as things have no ideology.

But clocks are a symbol as well, representative of mortals' attempt to impose structure upon the unstructured. Akatosh is really just a divine clock, enforcing linear time. Break the Dragon, break the clock.

So the IDEA of clocks, the noumenal clock if you will, is Anuic. But as all Anuic things, it's meaningless without its Padomaic patient.

A question that has been bothering me of late. The more i think on it, the less certain i become! Even the consultation of highly qualified individuals versed in the lore has only deepened my uncertainty and left new questions. At one time i was uncertain for the exact opposite reason i am now uncertain. My presuppositions were in two ways wrong which nullified each other leaving me confused again but in reverse. Understanding the answer to this may well have deep cosmic significance.

It's really not that deep. Anu is said to be a part of all things while Padomay is chaos and change. So, I suppose clocks, like all other inanimate objects could be considered anuic.

Be careful. Some unauthorized subtances make you feel wiser, too. Although chemically speaking not really harmful, TES lore can result in brain hazard :)

Ever since i stopped wearing a watch in the early 2000s thanks to mobile phone technology making them redundant i've barely noticed the existence of clocks. Im convinced the only exist while being observed. Time only moves forward if someone is there to experience it and clock hands only move forward if someone is there to observe them. Therfore all time is static and illusory.

Before clocks we had the sun, moon, and stars and their relative position in the sky to tell time. What does elder scrolls lore tell us about the sky and the objects there within. I think a clock would be comparable to the sun, moon, and stars. So whatever they are considered is your answer.

    Anuic
Clocks are clocks. Time is Aka, and Aka is the soul of Anui-El, and thus is intrinsically Anuic. If Aka is broken and time is sundered, what happens to the clocks? Either they continue to tick like clockwork through the New Dawn, thus providing order to the chaos, or they no longer work because what they are measuring doesn't exist; whichever way that goes, both imply that clocks must therefore be Anuic.
