Builds?
I'm an imperial purely because I was gonna be a tank but I'd rather be DPS now

You're better off going Stam dps.

I have an imperial Templar and Stam dps is the most fun for me. I also like tanking, but imperials don't have the passives for magic dps.

Ah right. Might give it a try, don't know a build for it though

Templars do get hit so health and stam (for blocking) are good things in modest amounts (more that 64 points in magicka will net you without a bit of help). Imperial for a magplar simply means that you need zero hitpoint help from your enchants and set bonuses. Properly planned, that translates to sets and enchants that are purely focused on magicka. There is no denying that the Imperal is the king of overall stat boosting. Heck, my magplar (and magsorc also for that matter) are Bosmer.

I'd urge you to consider playing the race you like. If race is not important for roleplay reasons then, yes, Altmer/Breton are optimal choices. But that 'optimal' is not very big. If you insist on squeezing every bit of metamax efficiency out of your character and want to run top level content then there may be reason to let your class/role dictate your race.

As I said, I only play Bosmer and I only play magicka characters. And they work fine.

PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo
