Who among here is into RP (ingame roleplay)? Do you just watch or participate?

Sometimes I am scared they pull me into the plot. So I watch from a distance.

I do not rp in ESO because I don't play regularly enough these days to keep up with an rp storyline.

Also, while I've RPed in real time, I've also never rped in an MMO before... Seems kinda daunting to keep up with emotes and such.

I haven't RPed in an MMO, but most rpers I know believe in courtesy and understand that it's a public performance if you're playing in an MMO. My usual impression is if they're entitled and rude they aren't good RPers most of the time.

There's no need to post on those forums, but you may want to check out the events section. Many events seem to be open to all, like tavern nights. You can just drop by and quietly observe others RP to get an idea (don't block /emote and /say) and then join when you feel like it. When in doubt, whisper any other RPers there and you'll get tips and clarifications.

Another way is to check out the recruitment section and join a new player friendly RP guild. Sometimes I see RP guild ads in zone chat as well. But it's a bit more demanding especially when you aren't sure if you are going to enjoy it or not.

Thank you for the information. I PNP as a founder of the "Dead Games Society" so I have a bit of XP on writing and running games. This may be a fun for for me.

Roleplaying seems completely silly to me, I just play the game because I like being told the story. But yes, my toon is at most a pixelated framing device for the stories of ESO.

Huge RPer. Part of a guild where we're playing out lore-friendly stories and post summaries in Discord each week.

ESO is one of the more friendly games I know of for RPing - motifs, costumes, personalities and the housing customization are some of my favorite mechanics. And TES lore is the best.

You are generalising an entire population based on one bad experience. When my guild RPs and there are others that are there but not participating we simply ignore their existence, that includes trolls that do everything they can to attempt to interrupt or ruin our RP, they simply do not exist in the RP world that we are in at that moment.

You are right, i kinda did that. Thing is, I almost never see RPer and that time i did, I got bad aftertaste, so i did generalise an enter group of ppl because of few bad apples(hopefully), my bad!

As many ask solo-only players: "why you only solo, this is a MMOrpg, shouldn't you be playing single player games instead?", I ask non-rpg players: "why you don't rpg, this is a mmoRPG, shouldn't you be playing non-roleplaying games instead?"

I'm being sarcastic. Or sardonic. Complicated words are complicated.

Isn't RP the thing where the king weirdo puts in line all the people in the group with less self esteem according to his vision of self?
And then other people in the group might wanna do something differently but the king weirdo goes "No! NO! That's not what this fellowship is about! We gona dance in breton Style and you gona wear blue and white"
or something like that?

I do participate in RP but spend most of my time just playing the game.

I love to RP, I am always in character while playing, even if alone and all the RP is in my head.
When I come across others who are doing it too, I will talk with them in character. I've never had a bad experience with it.

I do participate in RP but spend most of my time just playing the game.

I try to RP almost everyday if my characters are in the right place. They all have backstories, and they go to different plots. I'm currently planning a few plots for friends and such. But (yes, I know, you'll laugh at this like every PvPer does) I also do PvP, and have been doing since beta, and I love it. PvE is okay too.

I simply enjoy all aspects of the game, but for me RP>PvP>PvE.

Those where not your typical rpers then. Most of the ones I know are very certious to those around then. Plus true rpers don't rp in zone chat.

As far as I know I have never actually seen anyone do this in the game but maybe it's not a thing on ps4 EU. ...would love to watch some.

Have come across it in real life. Out walking the dog in woods & came across a group in costume playing out some story. Quite surprising. Mage in party 'froze' everyone as we quickly walked by. And as we were all British everyone was suitably embarrassed. Sheepish grins all round.

A friends story:

She was in Shadowfen with a buddy and were running down a lake when she saw a pack of ARGONIAN players. They were all in area chat chanting things and basically baptizing their new Argonian member for whatever cult they were in. All naked and all singing and stuff...the buddy of ours joined in and went naked and got baptized as well lol...sometimes man..

Also I was in PVP once a long time ago at EP's gate and a small group of argonian noobs were all naked and were heading somewhere..to do something...jokes.
