    It has 3 attacks.

    A normal single target swipe
A heavy AoE knockdown + damage. You see it when it stands up on its back legs. Its a small cone though.
    Plus the ultimate attack.

    What it needs:
    • When entering combat the bear appears INSTANTLY at the target, not in mid combat, not after combat, as soon as it starts the bear is there at my side.
    • The standard attack needs to be sped up,
    • The cone and speed of the heavy AoE knockdown needs to be improved, most of the time the target has moved a few steps to the side and it completely misses and thats in PvE.
    • The ultimate attack needs to have a dual function. If the bear is in melee range the attack goes off as normal(although sped up), if the bear isnt in melee range it should instantly charge the target and dealing the damage regardless of where it is or what its doing. A lot of times I've used the ultimate with no effect because the bear was knocked down or stunned.
    • OR the ultimate should be a special attack by the player character, something in the same manner of Selene's monster set.

What would be cool to see:
    • Eternal Guardian gaining a taunt
    • Wild Guardian gaining bleeding attacks
    • A LOT more synergy with the player. Like when attacking the same target the bear could do some special attack whenever the player character uses a skill on the target. For example if I play my warden tank and I use puncture to taunt the enemy the bear could do a slash attack on the exposed flank for extra bleed damage etc. Right now its just a pet, but its an ultimate and would be a lot more enjoyable if it has more synergy. What happened to all the Bear is going to be OP, Warden is PTW because its going to be the best class in the game posts from a few months back?

The bear is OP af because it's basically an invincible pet.

Warden P2W, best tank, heals, dps, and now best kiting.

As was noted on another thread, as soon as you claim Warden is P2W you really lose all credibility.

Maybe for magicka builds. There is a stam build where Sub Assault hits like incap in PvP. I wouldn't have thought that the skill useable in PvP based on the tooltip.

    Very happy with my bears.

But then I'm a lightweight quester flitting around not taking this game that seriously.

Although one did manage to get me a bounty as it attacked and killed an npc who went for me whilst in stealth mode. That was a bit unexpected.

I don't play a Warden but after reading about everyone's technical issues with the bear (not attacking, not being in same room etc), if Blizzard was able to get it right with Hunters pets when the game came out 12 years ago, what's ZOS' excuse?

Seems like a pretty hard thing to get wrong.

Not jumped on the Warden wagon yet but I thought it would be useful with Necropotence to get the extra 4k mag.

It's a shame it takes both of the ultimate slots. I never leave home without the destro ultimate....

Wardens just use the "Betty Netch" which only needs to be on one bar, counts as a pet and therefore procs necropotence set

It's a magicka regen ability with no magicka cost, so there is no reason not to have it up 100% of the time.

Pets will stealth as much as you, you can use them on sneak missions.
If you are discovered and attacked the pet will attack the hostiles.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

    The bear has three uses:

    1. RPing (great for this)
    2. Boosting single target DPS on skeleton dummies.... since they won't fight back or spawn alongside any adds. The bear is unslotted in actual content
    3. Duels, since pets have always been notoriously OP in 1v1s but helpless elsewhere in PvP

The netch is considered a pet, so 100% uptime on that negates the use of the bear completely if running Necro.

The bear is a colossal disappointment. The lack of a taunt, its inability to stealth alongside you, and its inept pathing all make the ultimate largely worthless. As a Warden player, I find myself using the Storm or the Forest ults as they actually provide a reliable return on slot investment. Until the bear has all of these issues listed above resolved, I find no reason to use it.

The main benefit seems to be.the bonus damage per pet skill slotted much like similar passives.for sorc skills and.fightets guild skills

For instance in pve on a.stam toon you might with for active skills but it's.often better yo stack Hunter, Flawless, Trap, silver bolts and then your spammable on your single target bar just to get the big damage bonus per slotted skill, same with your Warden pet bar with Dive et al.

Advanced Species – Increases your damage of Animal Companions abilities by 2% for each Animal Companion ability slotted.

A 10% damage bonus with a bar loaded with critter skills. Odd thing is you'd want one on the back bar too for the +12% Stam/Magicka Regen, too, so a Stam build may want Flawless instead, and a mag build the cold ult with the max Magicka while slotted boost. That health regain when prets are unsummoned or killed is nice though and a bear ult user will never ever lack ult to resummon due to the ult Regen passive every 8 seconds
