It's obvious to all of us that there is just not enough staff to handle customer support. It would be nice to actually respond to our issues and actually attempt to resolve them to our satisfaction. The forums are really sad. I see so many genuine posts that receive no response and the customer support will just try to close your ticket anyway they can with out actually reading it or trying to help in anyway. Customer support when this game started was great and now it's really gone in a dangerous direction. I find that I dread opening up a service ticket because it requires me to repeat what I've said multiple times and make sure that I respond within 3 days or it gets closed without a resolution. I also find that I have no faith that I will receive a resolution at all. For example, I submitted a ticket that my character was stuck in combat and could not mount or go stealth. This was before Morrowind. I received no answers relevant to my questions from customer support just threats of closing my ticket because apparently they were assuming that my issue had been resolved. I repeated myself multiple times. Still no solution or relevant questions. My guild mates had to tell me that the shalk set was broken and causing my issue. So in closing I am requesting better trained staff that are familiar with common bugs and resolutions and more staff to handle our concerns in a timely manner. I truly believe that we pay you enough that you can throw some money at this issue. I am not satisfied with the level of support received in this game considering how much I and everyone else pay you.

Thank you.

I miss in-game support and seeing actual game masters. It's been a while.

I am fairly certain that most of the support, or at least the first tier is an out sourced company. A universal help desk that are probably reading from scripts. Some might not even play the game.

I have to say I've been disappointed by each encounter with Support here, few though those have been. The pattern seems to be:

    - I politely and coherently state the issue I am having.
    - I get an automatic response that has at most minor relevance to the topic of the issue and nothing to do with the actual issue.
    - I repeat my issue in a reply, in a tldr version with reference to the first submission.
    - I get a cheerful response that asks for some more information such as diagnostic tests.
    - I provide the requested information.
    - The next reply says they are closing the ticket, without actually telling me what to do based on the provided info.
    - I say wait, please don't close it, what do you suggest I do to fix the problem?
    - They answer with a solution to a problem I never stated.

Mix that up with me asking direct yes or no questions "can I do x action as described in your earlier post but on y drive?" and never getting any response remotely connected to the question, along with responses that seem completely unaware of my comments earlier in the thread even in a very short thread. I don't think Support has solved anything for me ever.

Now, they're not nasty in the slightest. They're just not useful. I dread the day my game stops working; that was my most recent problem, I could not get the SSD copy to run. My slower drive's copy still works, but I've lost the SSD version. If the slower one fails, I guess that's the end of ESO for me because I have zero faith Support will have an answer :(

Unfortunately with hardware you'd have to check the Knowledge base. If the issue or topic doesn't come up, it means they don't have a solution for you. (also, if the issue is your SSD doesn't run it, maybe contact customer support for the makers of the SSD?)

    interesting
the few issues I have had have all been resolved fairly quickly
perhaps your issues do not require an answer or is not something support can or will do

I didn't give you all the details because I wasn't looking for answers; I've already deleted the useless SSD copy. The issue was that the launcher installed on the SSD lost its ability to see the game and demanded I do a full reinstall. However, since I didn't have enough room left on the SSD to install a second copy of the game, it refused to even start the install, even though Support had told me to start the install then do a series of things to stop it at the right point and copy new information into an old file so I wouldn't have to take a day or two fully reinstalling from scratch and lose all my settings. The question they simply could not give me a y/n on was whether I could do their recommended steps on my normal drive and copy over to the SSD (I would have accepted a "no, because x" but it felt like they simply didn't read that question any of the three or four times I asked it and they weren't paying any attention to the thread history, only the most recent response. They didn't even seem to know what I meant by my references to the advice given me early in the discussion even though it was all cc'd in every reply from either them or me).

My normal drive copy includes PTS and is working ok so I'm just crossing my fingers for that to continue. My other game is GW2 and their support has been absolutely stellar on matters big (eg Trading Post not loading) and small (eg not getting a black lion key from a story step that should have given me one). Thus I have an example of intelligent help and confirmation that yes, I do know how to coherently describe an issue in such a way as to help the troubleshooting.

I enjoy ESO a lot, it's a game with a lot of depth, immersion, and variety. I still dread any need for its Support section.

I saw two of them once in Windhelm. There was a huge bot train that was going through and they showed up with the banhammer. They look like ghosts, It was kind of cool.

Customer support? My my oh my. Look no further lads and lasses, the forums IS the customer support.

Jokes aside, I've never relied on ZoS when a problem from in-game arises except when my very own hard-earned money is directly involved in a problem (eg. purchases of DLCs/crowns). Instead, I just ask/search around the forums or in-game (whenever possible) for help.

To me, all you players and/or forumers are the best place for help and hands down to all of you for making my stay in the game much sweeter.
Without everyone providing their experience and solutions on how to handle a problem about the game, I would've long left the game mostly due to how poor ZoS's customer relations are that could potentially leave a player frantically looking to address a problem with no success about the game being unplayable etc.

This community is pretty good for an MMORPG. Your comment and the tons of fun/helpful/constructive threads show that. The internet is just the internet, whatever the topic :/

I had a recent issue and customer service was outstanding . It was a complicated issue so it took a week to sort out completely but the resolution was incredible . Things that I noticed that were important .

    1. Writing a rediculous long explanation of my problem with lots of details .
    2. Being patient in waiting for the first response and reading that response clearly before responding .
    3. Being super polite . I know it's hard when you have a problem but you might be amazed at the results .

I pay money. Stuff should work.
If not, there is no room for politeness.

    After all, we aren't communists.

Did you take money from me? I didn't give it to you for nothing. Make it (whatever I paid you for) work.

And an award for one of the most asinine thing I've seen on the forums this year.
