Since you have all overlooked it: Almost all Intel dual cores have hyper-threading, which means that they can emulate a 4-core CPU without losing anything other than a little performance from not having 4 physical cores.
Which, assuming it is true that ESO now requires 4 threads, explains why some of you think you are still able to run ESO on a dualcore CPU:
You're not doing what you think you are doing, your intel CPU is just emulating a quad core (at the cost of some performance).

I've been playing solidly besides a break due to ill health since beta. Ran fine even during Morrowind early access at low / med settings.
Guess I'll have to crank everything down, hope, and start saving.
