dual core CPUs dropped without Announcement

Nowhere in any announcement did they say they were dropping dual core support. The announcement about specification requirements made no mention of dropping dual core support.

Zos messaging is awful, they announce things too late. I have now been stung twice, after my last sub renewed, the announcement that morrowind would exclude ESO+ and crownstore. And now by an unannounced dropping of dual core.

Not only have Zos bait and switched me on Morrowind, but Morrowind has now excluded me from everything I have paid for.

    Are you running the 32 bit or 64 bit client? Check the settings on your launcher(gear in the upper right hand corner) and make sure you have 64 bit client checked. Then launch as normal.

    64 bit client seems to still be working for me; it's using all 4 of my cores.

    Edit: I can't even launch the 32 bit client on my system. It defaults to the 64 bit even when manually launching it from the game directory.

    Sorry to tell you, but since there is no such thing as a DUEL core, ESO could never have supported it because it doesn't exist. Maybe you mean a dual core, but that's neither here nor there.

    It would help if they showed even the slightest sign of caring about their customers. Just a "sorry, we dropped the ball, didn't communicate properly, and sent out conflicting messages" would do.

    Instead I get told its tough, they have my money, I'm subscribed but not going to get tech support. Basically being ESO+ now is being a cash pinata.

    I could have considered it a long time ago if Zos had said anything about it. Instead I'm having to consider it now while being screwed out of the rest of my ESO+ which I already got screwed out of Morrowind on, and now Morrowind makes everything I have paid for unusable.

    I can writ, but its slow, keeps stuttering. No chance at actual play, my tank could probably do solo content, as lock ups wouldn't kill him, but it'd be torture.

    That sounds like typical ZOS.

    I'm playing on a 5K iMac right now i7 6700k, but I just built a new gaming PC 6 core i7 and 1080ti gonna play the game in 4K.

    Apparently the game is more processor heavy than anything which may be why they dropped support.

    There are many out there (OP excluded) that expect graphically/CPU/RAM intense games to run on their potato when that is not realistic

    I thought I had more time, so kept frittering my wealth on luxuries such as food and shoes.     If you can play the game, then the game still supports dual core CPUs. Your problems lie elsewhere.

    Did they actually drop dual core support? Or are you having technical difficulties and blaming them?

    Have they confirmed having dropped dual core anywhere? Perhaps your hardware is the problem. Are all your drivers current? Etc.

    "Your card only has two cores, the requirement for the AMD side of CPU's is four cores."
    "It seems like your CPU is out of date and is not compatible with the Morrowind release. I am sorry if this was not the news to hear but we are unable to provide technical support for unsupported CPU's."

    Yes, all drivers up to date.

    Odd since that page shows it was updated just last month and @Kiwi noted in a page above that they played ESO on a dual core today.

    The one things about first level of support is they are generally not very knowledgeable and that is fairly normal with and help desk situation. Try asking for a supervisor or tier two for better clarification. It is worth asking.

    I assume you have repaired. The issue also could have to do with corruption on your PC. Files get messed up overtime and whatever and I am guessing you have had that PC for a long time.

    Yea, they drop AMD dual cores according to support, but even now, specifically searching for it, can't find any mention of it anywhere.

    PC has been reinstalled a few times since bought. I doubt a windows installation could last 7 years XD

    I was playing the game on a i3-2xxx for years, with an AMD7770, then in the last months upgraded both the CPU (to a Sandy i5), and the GPU (to a 960). Definitely like playing another game now. CPU and GPU counts.
