Compensation for Lost Days

Well, I certainly didn't get the extra crowns for having to put in tickets to get the crowns I was supposed to get, and I had to spend weeks showing them proof that I was a subscriber. As for the motif, that was only an example, and yes, if you were seriously into crafting and competitive about it, then you would understand how only a week after it being in game (a week where people that were competitive crafters were going crazy doing writs and spending tons of resources and time just to get single pieces of the motif) that, after that week, anyone could simply purchase the motif.

You can call it however you want, but, I remember when that happened and the forums were buzzing with pissed off players. It was a calculated move on the part of ZOS to make the motif so difficult in the game, but every serious crafter was saying, yeah, it will be in the store, maybe 2 months from now or something, long enough to reward the players who really pushed through and earned it the hard way... then, BOOM a week after, and it was released on store. If you need proof, go research it...

Otherwise, I just have to say, you don't understand, and leave it at that. But, either you aren't serious about crafting/motifs/etc, or you were not playing then, or you weren't looking on forums then, or something... it happened, a LOT of people were pissed... I wasn't all that into crafting, and had crowns to spare at the time, so if I had wanted it, I would have grabbed in the store... didn't really care to grab it myself, though. But, I remember all of the crafters livid over it, and how it was a blatant cash grab.

    That's the point ;)

Zeni won't even give up such a paltry figure. Whether or not the error is theirs in this case is another issue, but this is how they consistently act when it IS their fault. That sort of attitude is terrible business, probably losing them multiples of what they save. Not only are they a terrible company, they're run terribly too.

Crowns, even small amount as a token gesture, as compensation for sure. I won't get compensated, but if I suffered those lost days I'd want compensation.

Indeed. I'm was not trying to be bought, was not trying to get something I do not deserve, and was not asking for miracles. I was asking for fair compensation. The company thumbed their nose at me. They have earned probably over 500 bucks from me, and I have brought them several other customers as well. To be ignored completely for an entire day? They could have easily popped in and said, "We apologize, we will be with you as soon as we can, but currently everyone is busy helping others and will get to you as soon as we can"? And, before anyone has a snarky reply, remember that as soon as I found the hidden ticketing system, I had a reply within minutes. So, yeah, they DO have people, just, no one was watching or caring at all about the Xbox Technical Support forums apparently... or my post here... or on facebook... Yet they managed to reply, close threads, etc as per the normal whenever someone was cursing, because that is more important, I guess?

So, after being ignored, then having to basically forget using the internet for a couple of days, and all I was asking for is to have those days added back to my subscription. That should have been automatically offered, but, guess too much to expect from ZOS. Too much to think they would go to a small level of effort to secure further possible hundreds from me... and, I know, piddly, right? Well, told one of my friends about how this all went down, and instead of playing ESO, he went to the Xbox Store and found other games to play. Maybe their customer support efforts will be better for the rest of you after they lose a few thousand dollars in profit from me and my group... probably not, but, that seems to be all I can do.

And, as per expected, notice, not a single one of them has said anything on this thread as well? They have no excuse for their treatment of paying customers, and they aren't even attempting to clear any of it up. But, what's new, right? I am certain they have found several threads needing closed due to flaming/shaming and curse words, but, yet again, no concern for anything that really matters.

Considering the issue you faced was not wide spread it was more likely something happened local to your rig.

Anytime software is installed or updated there is a risk that it will not go correctly. This is due to a wide number of factors.

Unless somehow you can prove the issue was a fault of Zos and probably more that they knew about it answer of time and chose to ignore it then I doubt there is reason for Zos to compensate you. Nothing in the OP suggest anything along these lines was the case.

BTW. Zos has compensated players for time lost when it was significant and widespread due to technical issues on their side. Less than a month after launch a number of players could not log in. The number increased over the course of a week until maintenance was performed. If was an entire week and a large number of players and most significantly it was due to a technical issue on the part of Zos.

I have been biting my tongue for days since first reading your post detailing your troubles getting past the splash screen on launch night.

Since then I've seen more than 30 comments from you across multiple threads about this issue. I'm sorry this issue happened to YOU and only you apparently, as it seems no one else experienced this problem. I'm glad the game is finally working for you, but enough is enough. Please move on. ZOS doesn't owe you anything.

Like the above poster said, and I'm loosely paraphrasing, crap can go wrong anytime you install or update software. The issue was likely specific to YOUR Xbox, and not a problem inherent to the patch itself. Since no one else experienced this problem, and you can't prove the issue was ZOS' fault, they owe you nothing. It's like if I went to a restaurant and ate some food, and then later on that night I get indigestion or have a bad BM. Is it the restaurant's fault this happened to me, when no one else experienced it? Does the restaurant now owe me something? No, they don't. I can't prove it's food poisoning after all. More than likely the food did not agree with me in particular, but it doesn't mean there was anything wrong with the food itself. Should I go and complain to the franchise and corporate offices, as well as reporting the business to the health department and BBB because of it? No. I move on with my life and do other things. So should you.

I read a lot of stupid crap on this forum sometimes and I just read it and move on to the next post, but I keep seeing you post in multiple threads about this topic, and I'm just plain tired of it. ENOUGH! The game is working for you now, please go play it and hopefully enjoy it. Thanks!

You lost 3 days. 3 out of 30 days is 10%.

    Sub is $15.

    10% of $15 is $1.50.

    You are complaining about $1.50.

If you promise to delete this thread, give me your pay pal addy, and ill send you $1.50.

After the patch for Morrowind, which I had canceled the pre-order of due to fears of glitches and bugs and more, even though I was excited at first, even envious of the early access for PC (I am on Xbox). So, the patch rolls around, and I find myself unable to even get past the splash screen for Morrowind (the picture of guy, girl, bear in front of Red Mountain). I tried engaging ZOS on multiple forums, on facebook, and everywhere else I could think of, and eventually tracked down how to submit a ticket without being in game (which maybe due to my age, not sure, felt fairly well hidden).

In reply to asking for any form of compensation for the inconvenience as well as lost days of ESO+ (I am a subscriber), their reply is NO. At the minimum level, I was unable to use 3 days of my ESO+, and they will not even refund THAT by adding 3 days to my subscription (simplest way I would think), let alone any further form of apologetic motions.

You have got to be kidding, is this some kind of joke?

Regardless of your age you found your way to the forums, the support link is at the top of the page. You do not need to be smarter than a 5th grader to click a link staring you in the face on every page that says SUPPORT. Take this complaint and edit it out, this is clearly your fault and not a fault of ZOS ...... so they owe you no compensation for this .....

The patch take times to download, I was fortunate to download mine in 1.5 hours. Did you start the game on release day and expect it to immediately start without a download ????? Sounds like you did and the download paused/stopped. The game will not go past the splash screen and start until a certain point in the download progress. Again, your fault and not a fault of ZOS ...... so they owe you no compensation for this .....

There have been no other posts from any XB1 players not being able to get past the splash screen that I have seen. So it looks like it is related to your console and not a game wide issue everyone is having. If this was a game issue and wide spread there would be several dozen posts on the issue in multiple sections. No one has mentioned this in the XB1 support section on this forum. Appears you don't even know the forums to post in the appropriate section. This post should of been in the XB1 support forums and not in the general discussions forum ..... It is also appears this issue is on your end and not the fault of ZOS ..... so they owe you no compensation for this .....

Even if you did have down time you will not see compensation, it is in the terms of service you agreed to when you starting playing the game. There is a statement releasing them of compensation for downtime .....

There has been downtime in the past directly related to ZOS on several occasions over the years effecting an entire server and there has not been compensation to every player effected. This appears to just be related to you, what makes you so special to expect compensation when the issues appear to be one your end .....

You stated you were unable to play for 3 days. What was the issue you had and how was it fixed to get you back into the game????? I would like to know, expect others would also like to know. I only read briefly read a few of your follow-up posts, it got tiresome as they were just comments back to other posters attempting to justify why you deserve compensation. If I would of thoroughly read them, this post would of been a novel on how you are owed nothing from ZOS .....

LOL ..... I will also add $1.50, they can double their loss. Probably more than their weekly allowance from mom/dad .....

I wish I would of read your post on the "compensation fund to save us from reading this nonsense" before I replied. I could of used this time playing the game instead of commenting. Well worth a $1.50 .....

Avalon, I had exactly the same situation as you, although no-one from ZOS got back to me... Eventually after trolling the forums on how to fix issues, I managed to solve the problems, thing is I tired so many things, I'm not sure what actually did fix my issues.

And yeah, I'd chip in a buck fity too. Only to shut you up if course.
Been here since Feb 2014 - You'd think I'd be half reasonable at this game by now...

    I miss the LOL Button.
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

I don't know of any game that compensate for subscription unless it was the company fault and many if not all players were affected.

First I think it is silly to expect compensation for lost subscription time due to well anything. But blizzard will compensate you a whole month if you just contact them and say somthing like oh i hardly played last month due to real life stuff. I and a friend have done it a few times.

They were just like sure here is a free month we dont even care.
    Just sayin

They will postpone your paid subscription wich is on a monthly basis. But here is about 3 days, wich is basicly nothing. What worries me the most (and it should worry the OP too) is that the OP cant even deal with 3 days without playing ESO...

I figure this thread will quickly be taken down, however, I feel the need to state what most players probably already know, but just to give further proof to the feeling and opinion.

They reply, and suggest several things, fine, I do them diligently, and reply, hoping they can allay my fears that I will need to reinstall the game. But, no luck, I had to spend the better part of 2 days reinstalling. Added to the first day, that makes 3 entire days that I could not play, along with several other headaches and efforts such as trying to actually GET their attention in the first place. Of important note, not a SINGLE member of their team at ZOS has yet to reply to even ONE of my threads begging for help, those posts still remain only answered by other players. I spent hours out of my time, and days of inability to do pretty much anything online because Xbox devotes such a huge amount of download speed to whatever it is downloading. This is fine for most games that are 5-10 GB, but ESO is almost 80 GB. But, yet, I still did it, and it does work NOW.

Just felt other players needed to see how ZOS takes care of loyalty. Ranks right up there with charging money for Morrowind after promising that ESO+ members get to play all content because they pay them money each month. Ranks right up with the big screwing of players that is the Glass Motif (making a challenging way to get it, that is insane enough that only the true crafters would get it, and after a week of working hard and spending tons of resources and time, they throw it on the store? Not sure if anyone remembers how that felt)

So, yeah, apparently, all they care about is money, and they feel they have enough players that they can give horrible customer service and not even live up to their own promises.

in 23 years of mud's and mmorpgs i have never heard of a company compensating any individual due to their running the game on a potato, only server issues on their end.

pretty sure the wording of the ToS protects them from such litigation.

I have had zero issues with getting into the game when I have wanted to.
