If I bought ESO at launch can I add it to Steam as non-Steam game and use steam funds to buy things?

Basically that, I have ESO as a non-Steam game but I also have $50 steam funds I wanted to use on ESO. I read you can add it as a non-steam game and some things work, do they connect moneywise?

Need to buy game on steam for the steam wallet to work.
Not sure about Crowns haven't tried.... if they give you an add in code maybe would work for just that.0
