I'm not gonna compare this with w.o.w or any other game I'm implying that ESO base game is way more massive with tons of content and is now pretty cheap. Morrowind is maybe 5% of all other content without dlc.

I disagree its not par for the course. Old MMO's with half the budget ,far fewer sales and far less exposure give much more for the dollar in paid for content.

This is no chapter i expected so much more, this is nothing but a small xpack, im sure there will be more content incoming but if youre going to release something like a morrowind "chapter" i expected so so much more, a pretty map does not a chapter make, as much as i really enjoyed morrowind i didnt expect to blow through the content so soon, even holding back and trying to savour it, if there is additional content it should of been included now instead of holding it back and milking it out for extra cash, like i think we all know they are going to do, not good enough, will not be supporting this any longer with eso+

Just look at it from the perspective of a new player. Elder scrolls online can be purchased on all platforms for roughly $25-$30 on all platforms i will link sites if needed. Now morrowind has a price tag of $40. What new player in his right mind that knew about all of morrowinds content compared to the original content of eso would buy in to this it's ridiculous over priced content. It's a really bad idea to sell a far inferior product for more money even if it's new content, but it's only new content to players who have been around eso and played. You are basically giving all your loyal customers the finger.

But there's a cool snapchat filter that gives you a beard then turns you into a bear! Didn't that make the difference?

You don't have to provide value anymore, just spend marketing money to make something popular and appear to have value!

This happened because they were made by companies often founded by developers or even former gamers.
They measured achievement by how good the players rated the game, which in turn would result in good cash.

Nowadays, games are made by megacorps ruled by heartless and faceless CEOs put in there by heartless, faceless hedge funds and shareholders. Their only god is money.

By today's standards, old MMOs developers were stupid to give so much value for the dollar. By today's standards, you are smart and succesful if you scam as much money from what you consider "stupid sheep" (not players or customers) as possible. The more you are a bloodsucker, the more your company shares will soar.

This is what happens when globalized finaciarism replaces local industry capitalism.

Keep your spirits high. No doubt there's a DLC on the horizon where we'll get 2 dungeons for $20.
