Anyone else bummed out no dungeons came with the $40 price tag on Morrowind?

I've seen a lot of threads about disappointment in morrowind but I feel like we all got shafted on the dungeons. Base game has 15+ dungeons to run through and that was $60. Morrowind does not offer any group dungeons. Just disappointed is all and was curious how the rest of the community felt.

Biggest map, new trial, new pvp mode, new class... can't say I'm too bothered about not having new dungeons. They'll come in the form of a DLC pack in 3 months and will be Nord themed

Or maybe I got that wrong and it'll be the one after, I don't remember :D

Group dungeons are likely to be the feature of the third quarter DLC each year, if I recall correctly.

Base game came with 15+ maps with dungeons, 4 character classes and cyridiil which is huge in comparison to battlegrounds.

Wait, there's a trial dungeon, 2 public dungeons, and a half a dozen regular delves. Many of them are some of the most complex underground areas in the game right now. And Clockwork City DLC will be added soon, if not the next DLC. (Yes it kind of sucks that it wasn't included in Morrowind, but oh well.) So I'm not getting the part where you say there are no dungeons in Morrowind.

Saving them for Morrowind DLC$, no doubt.

Sheer size of the public's kinda make up for it some, though.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

If you leave the volcano zone out, the map is not the biggest, i would even say Wrothgar is even bigger, the pvp mode, appart that it should've been there from the beggining as a feature, doesnt work propperly when trying to queue in.
New class and trial... well, thats good, Vvanderfell area and quests not bad. But having almost the same price as the base game... and as the OP says, not even having other dungeons... feels a bit overpriced and dissapointing.

Because this was a DLC not an expansion. The Shadows of the Hist, which was, in itself, a shadow of a full DLC, only had dungeons.

The gameplan here is to provide the least amount of content for the most amount of money. If you judge them by that standard, ZOS is a very successful company.

Assumed the next dlc update is for Morrowind dungeons. Prob gonna suck for eso Plus folks who didn't buy Morrowind but it's my assumption that a new chapter will have new pages until the next chapter....

Assumption tho but it did have a new clas and new trial so maybe class replaced dungeons due to dungeon dlc coming soon

Not really. We know that the next Crown Store DLC pack is a dungeon pack. Won't be in Vvardenfell, obviously, but it is coming.

Well thanks for your kind words, but some other MMO's call expansion, or chapter to a way bigger amount of content than a new area with quests and a trial, a new class and some sort of not working pvp feature.

    This.

I bought the base game for $60 in March 2014. It included 17 zones (5 for each alliance, Cyrodiil, and Coldharbor), hundreds of quests, and four classes. Morrowind includes one zone barely larger than Wrothgar, less quests than Wrothgar, one class, and Battlegrounds for $40. So the Morrowind upgrade costs about 2/3 the price I paid for the original game with about 1/20 the content.

"Chapters" are going to be the cash cow from here on out. ESO+ has been severely devalued over the years, and I suspect that the overpriced cash shop has not been bringing in as much money as they hoped.

    Whining aside.....

I think the biggest reason for this that since Craglorn most Dungeons are public/open spaces and that has a lot to do with the lag we are seeing (everybody sharing one space in MMo's =bad) I have a feeling they are going to do a dungeon revamp, what this consist of I won't hazard to guess, but it will either refine the public cap or re introduce instancing for folks who are already grouped.....or the could go wth a straight instancing system, which I think would be too extreme.

And the only reason I mention this is it was part of the conversation at PAX.

If you compare the first ESO expansion (Morrowind) to the first WoW expansion (Burning Crusade), BC was a much better value.

Morrowind includes 1 zone, no dungeons, 1 raid, and battlegrounds and a new class locked behind the paywall.

Burning Crusade included 7 zones, 16 dungeons, 8 raids, battlegrounds available to all, and two new races locked behind the paywall.

Sorry... How many DLC packs did WoW have prior to Burning Crusade?

Very different game, very different funding model.
You can't really compare them honestly.

none of the DLCs except SoH (which was ONLY dungeons) had dungeons with them. I know this is supposed to be an "expansion" but that is just a marketing gimic. Its a DLC. My guess is the next dungeons we get will be in their own DLC like SoH
I don't remember anything about Morrowind ever saying there would be group dungeons. Not sure why this is a surprise to people

Yes very much so. If it came with 2 dungeons I would felt better spending $40. Dungeons will come as a dlc.

Put all ESO dlc's together and Morrowind, and still WoW first expansion was a better value.

EDIT: And how are they not comparable? What are you talking about? Both are MMO's that had a suscription to play at the beggining. They are very similar and comparable indeed.
