Iceheart - Separate the AoE Damage from the Shield, add 50% Slow?

This set doesn't see much use, but I could certainly see it become an offensive tanking set if the AoE damage was reduced and was separate from the requirement of shield uptime, while also adding slowing nearby enemies.

(1 items) Adds 688 Spell Critical

(2 items) When you deal Critical Damage, you have a 20% chance to gain a damage shield that absorbs 8600 damage for 6 seconds.You also deal [Y<770] Cold Damage to all enemies within 5 meters of you every 1 second for 6 seconds and slow them by [x]% for 2 seconds when hit. This effect can occur once every 6 seconds.

You guys have any ideas for this set? Or do you think it should remain as is.

    The set is fine as is. It's actually quite strong, but no one uses it because everyone goes full offensive. This is geared towards no deaths.

    Oh indeed the shield is nice, very much so. However the situational AoE is not really beneficial anywhere else other than vMA runs. But a slow would be pretty darned cool in pvp.

    I tried it in vMA and it lasted ohh about .5 seconds before it had been used up. I literally don't get why or how anyone uses it

    The monster set is always on my Sorc. It has saved me a ton with boundless storm procs. Especially in duels vs MDK. It up every 6 secs. Best used with resto ultimate. 30% damage reduction is already really good with shields. Hardened Harness Iceheart is how I survive most ganks. So why not reduce the damage those shields do. Pair with eyes of Mara for 50-70% uptime on major protection it works great.

    This means that when it procced you got hit. And instead of taking around 8k damage to your health, it was taken by the shield. This is why it is used. How it's used is by equipping it which you did and critting which you also did, GJ on that part.

    The set is good for VMA as in vMA you usually want to keep killing things and Everytime you have to stop and heal it's wasting time. So this allows you to heal through DPS instead of having to use a shield or a heal. It's basically training wheels in vMA really useful early on really useful to get that deathless. And really good scores can come with its use. HOWEVER when you finally muscle memory vMA it's no longer needed if you are going for the highest score possible and can do deathless easily without it.

    Remember one death can take more time than say the added damage of grothdar can give you. So if you are still dying alot it's the best set hands down. If dying is no issue at all anymore, then use grothdar.
