Should locking an item make it unenchantable?

Thanks for the feedback everyone! We are planning to add an extra confirmation for enchanting locked weapons and armor to help mitigate these issues. You'll receive an additional prompt warning you that the item is locked, which will require you to first type in "CONFIRM" (PC) or wait some time (Consoles) before you can finalize the enchant. We're also looking at switching the order of the context menu so that Enchant and Charge aren't right next to each other.
I personally would even prefer if i could improve locked items
We're planning on making a couple changes to Improvement too. You'll be able to improve locked items if you have a 100% chance, and you will be able to improve items your character is currently wearing.
Can I please request the ability to lock consumables? So they can't be, err, consumed?
@MissBizz Why would you not want to consume a consumable? (Although I admit to accidentally using one from Quickslot when I didn't intend to, numerous times.)

I can imagine wanting to lock all that Mythic Aetherial Ambrosia until you're sure you want to drink it, just in case ;)

I'd like a lock on consumables so they can't be sold. I've sold a stack of 200 custom pots more than a few times when clearing out inventory. With the price of alchemy mats, this is a pretty big chunk of gold gone down the drain.

Nice! I am absolutely terrified of accidentally enchanting over my VMA weapons (I play drunk a lot)

@MLGProPlayer If you play on PC get the addon Crafted Potions. Just makes crafted pots green/blue/purple (No idea why this isn't in the base game...)

Thanks for the tip. That should help a ton. I started crafting 1 bonus mag pots for my warden now (since they get prophecy and sorcery from skills), and not only does the crafted pot use the same icon as looted pots, but it has the same name too (essence of magicka). The only difference is how much magicka it restores. Super easy to sell it to merchant by accident.

Deconstructing sure does or selling if you don't notice it quick enough.

Except you run out of charges on your vMA or master weapons go to charge it real quick and end up enchanting it with a green cp150 shock glyph.

Makes no sense they didn't lock enchanting out as well

A soul gem and enchanting glyph look COMPLETELY different.

Charge weapons BEFORE combat. We have everyone do a charge check before starting a dungeon...

Actually, not locked, but if we are at full health/magica/stamina, we shouldn't be able to use a health/stam/magica potion.

I've hit Q a few times when going back to WASD to move.

Please stop watering down the game. The next thing you people will ask for is an "Autoplay" function so you don't even have to play yourself...

    @ZOS_BobbyWeir
I really hope that we will be able to disable this "feature" without having to unlock the item. I like to have my valuable items locked, but I'd really hate it if I had to type "confirm" every time when I change the enchantment on one of my armour pieces.
Sure, it's a nice savety to protect your msa / master weapons when you play completly drunk, but >95% of my gear are not master / msa weapons and there changing the enchantment can be necessary. (E.g. switching a magicka enchant to hp when the tank doesn't use ebon or switching between reg and spell damage on your jewelery.)

So I just discovered this nifty add-on called Item Saver.

It lets you lock any item (even consumables) so they can't accidentally be sold, deconned, mailed, traded, etc.

I like to be able to improve an item, but not change my enchantment while locked. I have accidentally changed an enchanment when attempting to charge it... I was button happy and in the middle of a dungeon. Had to go back and remake my enchantment and waste kuta

The "yes" in this poll does nowhere state a "confirm" dialog should be implemented. It's only the devs decision to do it that way.
I do think the OP's way would've been the better choice by far, just add "enchant" to the list of things that can't be done to a "locked" item.
But still, you'll only be getting the confirm-dialog if the item is locked. For unlocked items "enchant" should be working just like before.

You say that when you overwrite a Kuta'd glyph when you go to charge your staff and accidentally pick the Enchant category.

In the heat of battle its bad enough we have to open the menu to charge, but one wrong button press and you overwrite your enchantment. Just yes. This should have always been yes. I cannot believe, like most things, there's always 1 or 2 in the forums that have to argue using nonsense reasoning.

Primarily enchants IMHO. Alchemy and Provisioning are so easy to craft and the reagents/ingredients so easy to acquire (after the first few weeks) that I think that would be more trouble than its worth.
