Time to update launcher

Time to update the launcher, I have 4k resolution and the launcher comes up 2 inches by 2 inches. I cannot see or read any advertisement on it.
Why update launcher? Because 5k resolution is coming.

I agree I wish they would fix this, especially since it should be an extremely easy fix for them to just set the manifest to say it is not high dpi aware and let windows scale it. But, in the meantime, here is a post I made before of how I fixed it (using information I found on-line related to someone having a similar problem with another program).

A PC is a Personal Computer. So... your Mac is still a PC. It just runs a different OS out of the box, and and costs more due to branding (though to be fair, Macs usually do have pretty high quality screens and other peripherals).

All I'm saying is that Apple is an innovative company that sets standards and its going to start setting some standards in the video game industry, and 4k not even, im talking 5k resolution and if the gaming industry isnt staying up to date with trends, a year from now... All that advertising they do on the launcher... Will be for nothing because I cannot read in 4k, and when 5k resolution comes around in a couple months from now. I'll have hard time finding the Play button to start the game.

Social media industry, the ipad, the imac, the iphone industry is moving like a tornado, the video game industry needs to increase their pace and keep up with all these trends moving like wildfire.

You miss out on someone that people consider standard... Your rating goes from a 4/5 to a 2/5 all because of that little standard you missed out. It makes a 20% or greater difference. You do not have these things that people consider standard, thats a 20% off your grademark. And pretend your back in school. How does it feel to have 20% or more points deducted just because you missed one of the things, simple standard thing.

Thats crazy, they really need to update this launcher. People should think ahead rather than wait till a big problem occurs.

Why not just wait and build a pc with Intel's new i9-7980XE when it comes out later this year? With a couple Titan Xps, and that 8k monitor, you will leave that Apple in the dust. Just like a Samsung Galaxy does to the iPhones.

It is not going to happen. Most players of ESO are on machines that cost less than $1k. It is pointless for game developers and publishers to even try to push games to utilize the most of the top end gaming machines. It would eliminate a large swath of the potential customer base.

It was a great start when Zos stopped supporting older DirectX versions. Of course we would like to see more change to take advantage of this, but I do not expect them, or anyone else, to push the boundaries to great lengths.

I think you are missing the point. The game does take advantage of 4K already, though obviously we don't have 4K textures. But the in game UI renders well in 4K.

The issue the OP is raising is that the launcher does not display properly with a high DPI monitor. That is a very easy fix for ZOS. All they need to do for a quick fix is update the manifest to tell Windows that it is not high DPI aware and then Windows will properly scale it. See the link I posted above where I manually update the manifest to do just that.

Granted a better fix would be to truly make the launcher high DPI aware so it used high DPI fonts and images, but for just a launcher letting Windows scale it is fine.

Unfortunately, I think this point got lost in the Windows versus Mac debate.

Um... aren't PC's much more upgradeable than a Mac? So wouldn't buying a Mac be somewhat equivalent to buying a console, in that you have to replace the entire system every couple of years instead of just upgrading the components like PC players can? I haven't owned a Mac so I'm not sure, but I thought a lot of the components are proprietary to Apple.

Seriously though, Apple computers will never be even remotely competitive to WIndows PC's in terms of performance:cost ratio in gaming. They haven't been in decades and they probably won't be in decades to come.

It's okay to like Apple as a company and their Macs - but they never were and probably never will be good for gaming. Good for other stuff, sure! Maybe even better at some things, sure!
But for gaming. No. Nah. Zilch.

Having said that.. the iMac Pro does look incredible.

Pretty much this.

I bring up imac pro because its 5k resolution, and the launcher is not readable even in 4k.
Even tv's are becoming very cheap for 4k.

I have steam, steam launcher is 4k readable unlike the ESO launcher.
BETHESDA.NET launcher is 4k readable unlike the ESO launcher.

Clearly the issue is in-house ESO developer issue.
Strongly recommend ESO in-house developers to check gear because I'm reading bethesda.net 5x5. ESO im reading broken and unreadable, how copy over.

Submit a trouble ticket if need be, the launcher may not be your department but if no one submits a trouble ticket no one in ESO will fix it because they are unaware its responding broken and unreadable to 4k users.
