Have you actually explored Vvardenfell or just run around doing the main quests? I ask as have just done a quest this afternoon with Lady Laurent & Stibbins, so......your point is?

The sad thing is that if ZOS just kept their promises and treated this zone like a DLC, it would have been considered the best DLC to date. Since it is one of the largest zones to date.
But instead, they got dollar signs in their eyes, decided to betray subscribers and play fast and loose with the definition of DLC (which is hard to do since it literally means "Downloadable Content") just so they could make everyone pay in cash instead of crowns.
So instead of an ample DLC, we got an anemic "expansion". GG ZOS. Fire your marketing team (which seems like 90% of your company) and hire actual game developers, more customer service reps, and get a real Quality Assurance department that knows what Regression Testing is.
without battlegrounds and the warden, i'd agree with you

I'm actually amazed at how many areas/buildings/ruins are locked off. Add that in with the geographical barriers in place just by the map design, and it's shocking (in all the worst ways) at how small this DLC is.
ZOS really, really missed an opportunity to take attention away from the disastrous Update changes to the game by giving Players massive areas/ruins/places to explore.
But by failing to put allow exploration of this many areas (which is most every door the streamers come across), the DLC just feels really limiting to what is possibly the biggest strength of ANY Elder Scrolls title: the ability to free-roam and explore a varied plethora of locations.
The lack of both Quantity and Quality is very shocking.
Pathetic, ZOS. Just pathetic.
I will agree it was disappointing not seeing many of the recurring characters that we have grown to love in ESO like Kireth and Raynor Vanos, Lady Laurent & Stibbons (plenty of stuff in Vvardenfell for those two to get in trouble), Razum-dar, Sheogorath, etc.
Graphically, I think Morrowind is pretty amazing. It's obvious the developers put a lot of work into Morrowind for Vvardenfell. But herein lies the problem. They put so much development cost into the new zone I think they had to recoup some of it by changing it from a DLC to an expansion. I think it was originally meant to be a DLC, but they couldn't justify the costs to keep it so. Probably what they should have done was to only open up a section of Vvardenfell, but increase the quests and other things to keep the players engaged, like a couple of group dungeons, etc.

Since I don't want to put out any spoilers, I will just say that what was found as the end of the main quest was not as majestic as I thought it was going to be. Of course, exploration can always open up new areas so you never know
Having said this, I still think Vvardenfell is a graphical masterpiece and enjoyed most of the quests. But I just wonder what the zone will be like a month or two from now when most players have completed the questing and main story..
Actually... my complaint is that you have to run to all corner of the map for a fetch quest. Totally unnecessary time sink.
while I'm watching people Stream Morrowind, I also tested it for a month on the PTS.magictucktuck wrote: »Uriel_Nocturne wrote: »Since I refused to buy Morrowind myself, I've been watching some Streamers.

I feel like you have some hidden agenda against ZOS like your big stand off to not get Morrowind and now you watching people stream it and i highly doubt you noticed all the blocked buildings from streams, but instead took that from other posts you saw. Feels like you are going out of your way to not only not be constructive or helpful but to try to turn people off to it?

I completed the entirety of morrowind by the end of the second day of early access. It's only long if you are on a low level character that stops to kill every mob, have a slow mount, don't slot rapids, and are picking up every node

Battlegrounds...
They nailed it with the size of the public's. I'll give them that. One thing I realised today.
Although the overworld doesn't seem much bigger, all the additional maps (delves, dungeons, story maps etc.) are pretty damn big as well. I do wonder how large entire map space would be including these.
@Uriel_Nocturne , I suspect they are saving most of those for future DLC$.Uriel_Nocturne wrote: »Since I refused to buy Morrowind myself, I've been watching some Streamers.

I mean, if you are just running from quest marker to quest marker like a bunny going from pellet machine to pellet machine, of course it isn't going to take much time.
Are you reading/listening to dialog? What else are you skipping or skimming?
Given that content has to have voice acting, among other things, it's kind of hard to add the sheer amount of content necessary to satisfy the players who treat questing like a shuttle race between the quest givers.
While there's that modicum of hope that they'll eventually open these locations to exploration via future DLC/content; the past 3-year history of ZOS and this game doesn't bode well for that.Merlin13KAGL wrote: »@Uriel_Nocturne , I suspect they are saving most of those for future DLC$.Uriel_Nocturne wrote: »Since I refused to buy Morrowind myself, I've been watching some Streamers.

It's more than a tease to place some of the iconic areas on the map and not allow access.
I'd rather have some nasty mob shred me to bits than to hit that bs invisible wall.
No complaints here. A beautiful world, stunning music, and plenty of interesting stuff to do (even with no interest in trials or PvP).
If people want to rush through it then complain about it not offering enough then so be it, that seems to be the way with MMOs these days.
Personally I've leveled a warden to level 8 in 11.5 hours played, have completed one world boss and one delve, and dabbled in a few quests along the bottom section of the map. I don't use addons, of course, as I don't want to be told where to go to for everything and prefer to explore which is what I've been doing, along with fishing and a few other things. I wonder how many of those who criticise the lack of things to do have been led by the nose to lorebooks and skyshards etc? Of course the world will feel smaller if you ride a fast mount in a straight line to every pre-shown destination on the map! So if some players have completed the whole lot in less time than I've taken thus far then they're clearly playing it very differently, as is their prerogative even if they end up being the ones that are unhappy about their experience.
I also recognise in the complaints about Morrowind generally on this board a number of names of players whose opinions are likely to have already been jaundiced by their rejection of the unrelated base game changes, and many complaints also come from players who haven't actually played Morrowind but are upset by such things as not getting it for free in their subscription. Some of those will have checked it out on the PTS, but not all by any means.

Wow if you are accusing me of rushing I will say you are whimpering through it, there was no add-ons available in the first week to tell you were to go and with the help of your compass you can locate every boss and delve easily

yep are you rp walking?
"along with fishing"
Oh I see, you are adding a rng dependant minigame to your playtime. As a master angler of all zones, Inc dlc I can tell you solo fishing will add 6-14 hrs per zone of "play" time artificially and you can't really add that as content as only me you and a few of us participate in fishing

Well I did stick to the main roads which should lead you to the main quests, and those should lead you to the side quests. So no, I didn't wander all over Vvardenfell looking for Lady Laurent. Sometimes it's easy to miss one once in awhile. Every once in awhile I'll find one on the main zones wondering "How in the hell did I miss that!?"
