Theory Crafting Resources

I'm a veteran player of the game returning after a long absence. I was in the closed Beta and played a lot of PvP shortly after release. I left due to a combination of not having as much time to play and being very unhappy with certain balancing decisions. I'm back because Morrowind is a great expansion, I love that we finally have dueling and battlegrounds, and because balance finally seems to be back in an okay place from what I can tell (better than it's been since 3-4 months after launch).

I'm currently planning to rebuild my mSorc and sDK and looking for some help in locating guides and resources for theory crafting. I've never liked copying other builds exactly, so while I'm open to looking at specific build guides for inspiration, I'm looking more for information repositories that are up to date.

Can anyone point me to an updated compendium of skills and gear sets?

It says up to date as of February 2017. Are all the gear sets currently on there?

It also doesn't seem to say the CP level for the types of gear.

last I checked, that site had all of the old sets and the Morrowind sets- crafted or drop sets and where to find them.

What do you mean by "CP level for types of gear"? all gear drops are now scaled to your level so any gear can drop in any level

The gear has CP levels next to it. What does that mean? If I get CP150 gear vs CP600 gear what's different about it? Does that matter in non CP PvP?

Also I found this site quite helpful:

ok I see what you are asking. The max CP any gear will have is CP160- that is the highest 'level' any gear can go until they decide to increase it (ETA unknown). As long as you have at least 160 CP and are on a max level character, all gear drops will be CP160. The only way that would change is to be on a sub-50 character- for example, if you are starting a new warden and only level 36, your gear drops would all be level 36, no matter how many CP you have. Or of you only have 110 CP and are on a max level character, all your gear drops would be CP110.

as for PvP, your gear level will still matter to the extent of how much of a bonus it provides (CP160 gear will have a better bonus than CP110 gear), however none of you allocated CP will affect how your character performs. Does that make sense?

    That's very helpful. Thank you!

I really like this change because there are some great gear sets that were unusable before simply because they only dropped at low levels. This really opens up a lot of theory crafting options and removes a single best in slot scenario.

There is no CP600 gear firstly. Gear levels stop at CP160. And the difference between say CP100 and CP160 is how well the gear scales with a character with 160+CP. The ideal is that you have gear that matches your characters level so that the gear bonuses are the best possible values for the quality of the gear.

The site you linked is reliable for the most part though they do have some incomplete lists and/or incorrect values for some gear sets from time to time. (ie scathing mage set cant be found in their Light Armor tab but can be found in the Imperial City tab).

and that is the ONLY thing I liked about the 1Tamerial update a few months ago. Other than that it did nothing but dumb the game down IMO. But yes, all gear is now available as an option for all levels.
    Hope this helps
