Is ZOS paying people to stream the game on twitch again?

If you follow the ESO community on twitch, you will know that 150 viewers is typical for an average day, perhaps 800-1000 for someone like sypher if its new content.

However, look at the first row of people here. Never seen these people in the ESO streaming community before except on big launch days. Makes me wonder....

Let's look a little further.

Oh that explains it!

In spite of all that, it is entertaining to watch these new people play the game and get constantly kicked out of the game with an error code. This is happening on stream after stream over and over again.

You can also tell the sponsored streams have no idea what they are doing but again, it takes till the second row till you get to people that have put the blood sweat and tears into the community and really know the game.

Maybe. But it's also a huge release in the gaming industry. Streamers want in. Even for a short time.

League of legends streamers pull in 50k viewers on an off day. It would be much more profitable for most streamers to stream anything else. There might be a few people curious but there are clear reasons why ESO hasn't taken off on twitch and paying high profile streamers to stream the game isn't it.

Wait till you find a company that actually spends money FIXING their game and LISTENING to their existing streamers, instead of just blowing their entire budget on marketing. Then you can be un-sarcastically surprised.

To be fair, your screenie shows Sypher and KodiPvP.. plus one guy whose name kinda sounds familiar, and one dude who obviously plays for SWTOR. The first two are NOT entirely unknown. One has an entire thread talking about him.

Huge release? ahaha 28.5k viewers on twitch right now, will not be in top 10 (unless they are sponsoring streamers for more than one day) starting from tomorrow.

I thought we were all mad two or three months ago because all they did was listen to streamers and that's why they nerfed sustain?

To be fair I actually specified that the entire TOP ROW of twitch streamers, (the ones with the most views) are not known community members. That was kind of the point. That's why i included the highlighted section. It's fun when you can predict peoples responses so you prep your post to pre-empt them.

Too bad all those streamers that went to ZOS are STILL MUZZLED by the NDA and can't tell us what they actually suggested and how ZOS took their suggestions.

Over the years, the community has given TONS of feedback to ZOS only to wake up on patch note day and collectively scratch their heads thinking "Where did this come from? We never asked for THAT!?!?!? Why did you fix that ZOS it wasn't even broken?"

A bit unfair to not know what the streamers talked about with ZOS then blame them for ZOS's changes don't you think? Do you really think Deltia would have quit if they did exactly what he suggested? Lets be a bit more reasonable here, we all know how ZOS works at this point.

Sustain did need to get fixed. It was the way they did it that was terrible.

Maybe if Kaceytron played it I would be convinced.

Really we do it without like, the musical instruments. This is the only musical: the mouth. And hopefully the brain attached to the mouth. Right? The brain, more important than the mouth, is the brain. The brain is much more important.

I'm not sure I want randoms to decide/provide "feedback" about anything in the game.

Doesn't matter. They don't have anything insightful to say anyway.

Never fear, I've been promised by Gamemaster Sinsiri that I will never lose all of my swag.

Too bad he's probably not even working with the company anymore since seeing a gamemaster is akin to seeing a unicorn these days.

But if I have to give up a bit of my swag to tell it like it is and get acccused of being bitter when I'm actively defending and supporting the REAL eso streamers that have given so much to our community then so be it.

Twitch is just something rich kids do to make money they don't need playing games.

The people who really need the money can't afford the bandwidth or the equipment to stream, and they can offer 10 times more to the community making content (mods and addons) and are prohibited from soliciting donations like the Twitch crowd can due to stingy draconian EULA.

    Screw Twitch.

From the screen caps, Soda is the only one i can tell that is being sponsored, it is likely that Towelliee, Swiftor, and Bahjeera are being sponsored as well, they have been in the past. ProfessorBroman is not sponsored and has stated as much, Krayn i would guess not sponsored. Obviously Sypher and Kodi arent, MavShow used to play with Deltia and a few other streamers.

Any streamer that is being paid to stream the game must explicitly state as much in their stream, normally done through an image in the overlay. If they dont, they can get into a lot of legal trouble.

You are on the right track with that mentality, here's another way to say it.

Try to have a nice family life, have fun, save a little money. That's a very limited life. Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact: Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you.
