I was on PC then transferred to PS4 and occasionally hop onto PC to mess around. I made a thread in the help section in April asking for advice on my PC ESO launcher since it weirded out after the Windows Creators Update. This is one of the big reasons why I prefer PS4, I push the button to boot the game and does so 100% of the time. I was not expecting my PC ESO launcher to stop working after a Windows update.

Lesson learned, never patching my WinOS until I do thorough research on new releases.

Well a PC is a well rounded machine, with open architecture. And it is not for gaming only. If you use the PC for games only it's like using a good camera for hammering in nails, you do it wrong.

I stop playing on consoles when I realized I had more choices in games. Not to mention the ability to mod the crap outta Elder Scrolls/Fallout games.

Honestly though, just to be really "adult" about it, I never owned a console. It doesn't seem practical since I need computer for other things as well, not excluding work related stuff. Also let's be honest here - a good PC performs better than any console. The only thing I miss out on are the console exclusive titles, but usually those are games I'm not interested in even if they were released on PC.

TL;DR - I don't own gaming consoles because practicality.

I had the option to play on both PS4 and PC (still do I suppose) but wound up buying for PC because I wanted to be able to play with others. And they all have the PC version, so that's where I went. The fact that I'd just built a new rig a couple of months before I bought the game really didn't make the decision-making any harder.

I've always used PC for the graphics and controls. Add in addons and it makes it the best choice for me. My sister prefers console for the system price and the ease of use. I can understand both, its just that PC works out better for me.

Consoles are basically crap versions of PC.

Only difference is on Xbox you have to pay twice just to use your internet connection which you already paid for to play online games and M$/Sony control your entire online experience, you have no say and limited ability to modify anything at all....

So for me it comes down to FREEDOM OF CHOICE. Sony/M$oft control and restrict everything to the point you have no choice.

confirmed: there are more console players than PC/Mac players

but its the PC playerbase that frequents the forums. They were open to pc players longer and typical pc communities congregate on forums due to ease of accessibility over consoles.

I don't own a console for the current gen. Might buy a PS4 at some point, for only for exclusives. I prefer playing at my awesome desk with all the discounted steam/humble bundle/GMG games. I can use both gamepad and mouse+keyboard. Graphics are better. Most of all, I have 3 SSDs. I remember playing Red Dead Redemption on the PS3. Great game even with the weak PS3 visuals, but the wait on that hard drive was painful. No way I can deal with that daily, and even the current consoles don't support SSD speeds if you swap drives. I also have zero interest in paying a monthly fee for a console to use certain functionality for games I already own.

I still need to play The Last of Us and I'll likely wait to play on a PS4 at some point.
