I tried Magwarden and Stamwarden dps at low levels, Stamwarden seems far more viable so far. (In terms of dps at level 12 with appropriate crafted set gear for leveling, was getting a disappointing 5-6k dps on magwarden and 15k+ on stam) Have no idea how that may pan out to maxed builds with bis gear though, I haven't got there yet. But stamwarden seems better so far.
I tried all variations of both sides and in the end just gave up trying to make it something its clearly not ment to be and went with hybrid.
it seems to do pretty well for what it does
ive leveld it post 160 cleared all of the new zone and all of the ebonheart content since it was released EA and im pretty sure how it is now is as good as its going to get without patches
its not bad and it is fun to play but its not going to be replacing any pre existing classes for anything im quite sure of that

You're not playing it right if the mag Warden is noticeably weaker.
I got my Stam Warden to 50 a few days ago, decided to try Mag since so many abilities don't have stam morphs. Currently the Mag Warden is lvl 20. I have not had any trouble with anything.
I can see having trouble if you rely on the Animal Companion abilities. The shalks are awful. The Cliff Diver is good for single targets. But if you're fighting more than one target, it loses its luster. Even in single target, force shock is better.(unless you're opening from a distance)
I open with Winter's Revenge(impaling shards morph). Then I hit my Destro staff ability. I've been going back and forth between Force Shock and Wall of Elements. Kill time doesn't seem noticeably different. Maybe with the morphs that'll change. I recently got Swarm, so I've been using that as well. Normally, weaker targets are dead by the time I land a fully charged staff attack, and sometimes I don't get to actually land the attack. Stronger targets really don't last a whole lot longer. (I cleared Badman's Hollow without issue.)
I'm wearing all crafted gear with whatever rings and amulet I can get hold of. 4 Seducer, 4 magus. Currently got 3 pieces of the bloodthorn set as accessories.
As far as I can tell, the only difference between Stam and Mag is that stam has higher single target burst potential, while mag seems like it would be much stronger against groups.

what kind of hybrid build are you using? I'm always interested in viable hybrids...
