EU SERVER IP?

When i do a netstat -bn the eso.exe ip shown are located in USA North Carolina. I thought the EU servers where in Europe?

    They are in Frankfurt, Germany

    Login server isn't though (if I remember correctly)

    So route is first loginserver in North Carolina and then from there back to europe?

    If the server was actually in NC I'd have a larger than 90 ms ping.

    Why dont they have the login server in Frankfurt aswell? Doesnt this create unneccesary hops?

    it should only be used on login (at least that's what logic would say)... don't know the reasoning though...
    Maybe to have all acount info in 1 place... also because they wouldn't want the same account to log into both servers etc... (just guessing there)

    Are the EU servers really in Frankfurt Germany though?
    I am living in Germany and if I ping any server in Frankfurt via speedtest.net, then every time I get about 24 ms.
    When I play the game I always have about 90ms or more...
    This doesn't seem like that the servers are in Germany...
    Or they use servers that are sh*tty quality?
    Well, for Zenimax the customers were never important though (personal experience). What they are interested in is money...
    I could even imagine that they "tell us" that the servers are in the EU, but in reality they are somewhere in the US...

    Even if the servers are in the EU, why the heck is my ping 90ms and more, if it should be about 25ms ?

    I suspect it's because everyone actually has an account on both servers, regardless of whether they use them both or not - with the same username and password. So the account info that you need to log in is on the same batch of servers.

    Sounds like your ISP routing is crap.

    If it was in the US, you'd be getting 200 Ms, not 90.

    If it was in the US, you'd be getting 200 Ms, not 90.

    Well I'm not convinced. Every other game has 20-50 ms. Only thisone has 90 and above.

    Okay, but then how do you explain that with other games I only have 20-50 ms ping?
    I get an other IPS routing for those games?
    Something is not right with the ESO EU servers...

    I just checked Tera EU for example.
    They are published by Gameforge in the EU (which is a quite cr*ppy publisher if you ask anyone).
    But they are still doing a better job with the latency:
    I got 31 ms while in game... that is a 1/3rd of my ESO latency...
    I'm not really a networking genious, but it seems like that ESO has some issues with their EU servers...
    Or could you please explain how is this the fault of my IPS routing? I don't really understand the part, how can an other online game has less latency than the other?

    You do not need any better ping in a MMO. 90 is fine. I am playing with around 65 from germany btw, so...maybe it is not their crappy servers.

    And comparing random routing to some server in FF to another route to FF is just foolish.

    Go play sexually highly problematic TERA ;)

    While eu server under performance we can get only login server IP. It's us ip - 159.100.230.9

    I had same issue and here's my old post , so what i get from there is that problem might be in some network infrastructural nods which causes high ping and latency. In my case it was one of the german one and when i google for that ".....frankfurt1.level3.net" i'v found a few results where ppl comlaining about it in other games.

    And i really believe this is a zos side problem to choose hops there r using. Not my ISP.

    And how do get eu ip: login in to a game, open up windows resource monitor, network tab and find eso64.exe running, in other column u'll see eu ip.

    Why wouldn't you need more latency in an mmo than90? you like that you get damage because you cant block in time because of the latency?
    Stop ***...
    And I don't play Tera, cause its crap...

    All you Zenimax fanboys/disguised employees just play then with 90+ ms, but for the rest of us, let us have normal servers...
