My Challenge To You All Tomorrow

Good evening/afternoon to all of you.

As you've probably been aware for months now, tomorrow is the day of the Morrowind patch. Tomorrow is the day the servers get taken down at 4am Eastern (how the server engineers can work that early is beyond me, but I think they are insane), and then the next day when it goes live, we'll get the Warden class, the brand new battlegrounds, and many other features.

With that said, it is likely that not everything will go as planned. Even though I, other players, and even ZOS hate to admit this, it is likely the patch maintenance tomorrow will run into a few problems. Maybe they'll have to extend the maintenance. Maybe the servers will be working fine, then something happens and WHAM, the servers go down.

While I will do my part and put up a meme thread for all of you to enjoy before I go to bed tonight (unless one of you ends up beating me to the punch, in which case, good for you) so that way we can vent our frustrations, I would like to make a little challenge for you all tomorrow.

IF, because of some random act of Molag Bal, the servers have to be down for an extended maintenance, or should the servers crash after maintenance tomorrow, I challenge you all to be positive while on these forums. While it is definitely no fun to not be able to play ESO when you planned on playing, it is not a lot of fun for ZOS either. So i challenge you, rather than let negativity, anger, and other negative feelings spill out onto these forums, I instead ask you to be positive.

Yes, it may seem like it's more work to be positive. Yes, it may seem like it's easier to be negative. But with the increased work you do from being positive, you also get increased reward.

So, while I, and ZOS, would like to think tomorrow will be smooth sailing, we all know in the back of our minds that extended maintenance or emergency maintenance is possible and even likely. My challenge to you is to be positive, and spread the positive feelings around the forums. You will notice how much better these forums can become if everyone takes my advice.

I am now done. I will hopefully get a meme thread going here within the next few hours. See you all tomorrow. GET HYPED!

Sincerely,
Lord Arena25

    Morrowind is released on Tuesday.

Thank you for pointing this out to me. I've edited the post slightly to reflect that.

However, my message remains the same. If for some reason, maintenance tomorrow has to be extended, or there's emergency maintenance either tomorrow or Tuesday, challenge yourself to be positive.

Nice request, hopefully people will honour it. :)

Unfortunately it probably won't matter to me either way because I'll be at work most of the day and then out running errands in the evening, I'll be lucky if I have time to log in at all before going to bed.

U realise the've already released Morrowind 2 weeks ago right? The only thing they're gonna do tomorrow is put the hotfixes etc in (if any  ).

Also, I don't know if you're on NA or what, you need to realise that tomorrow is a holiday in most European countries which will get shafted again, even tho they've been warned. So expect lots of salt and flame :DDDDDDDDD

I love this post! Challenge accepted!

Whenever a game is down because of some problem all you see is tons of negativity. So much impatience and people just being so rude. I completely understand wanting to play a game you actually payed for. But a game not working is bad for everyone. It´s not like the employees of Zenimax enjoy it and eat popcorn while we spam the forums with our desire to game and how impatient we are. Yeah they sit their laughing enjoying it muhahah. >:) No really, its bad for everyone, especially them.

If there is a problem tomorrow, which is bound to happen. I really hope people remain patient. The problem will be fixed as soon as possible. Complaining about it and just being a real headache will not solve a thing. Patience is a virtue, good things come to those who wait. Pick a saying, there are plenty.

But bottom line I really agree with @arena25. Lets all be patient and just see what happens. Everything might go smoothly with no problems at all. If things go south, well just keep a good attitude.

It already launched on PC and it couldn't have gone smoother. Maintenance was over around 10 am and there were no hiccups after it finished. Servers ran smoothly the entire day (and every day since then).

I'm not sure what console infrastructure is like, but if the PC launch was any indication, there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

But as we all know, what hits the PTS, hits live. Part of being an adult? Sorry, but no, poor excuse for ZOS''s inability to even lisen to the slightest bit of criticism that disagree's with their vision. If they even have a 'vision'.

I'm not sure if you're trolling or not, but Morrowind patch has got to be the buggiest expansion ever, maintenace on EU took nearly 10 hours and finished at 7 pm, BGS arent working still, 2 weeks later and the game is buggy af.

It must be up and ready by 10 am Eastern so we can have our Dwemer spider mounts.

If it is not up by then, how are people supposed to complain about how characters look while riding them, or how their leg animations look while sprinting/jumping. It just isn't fair if they can't complain in a timely manner, they will need to speak with the manager if that happens.

-editing to add- Also for us to complain about the crown price.
